I can’t remember if March is in like a lamb and out like a lion or the opposite. Over here, March was in like a lamb and heading out like a roaring lion. Good thing it’s time for the March Confessions and Runfessions. Thanks to Marcia for hosting.
March 2024 Confessions and Runfessions
I confess and Runfess…
I mentioned how nervous I was skiing a few weeks ago. What I did not tell you was that I found myself singing songs in my head to relax me. I didn’t plan them and they just kind of popped up. “I’m still standing” by Elton John was a frequent one as well as “unwritten”. No idea why it was these 2 songs but they helped me relax. Maybe I should try this while running?
I confess and Runfess…
No matter how old your children are, you never stop worrying about them. Both of my adult children were sick this week. My son ended up in the ER for a few hours (with me there) and my daughter came down with the flu right after I left her in Chicago. They are both fine and will be fine but wow, they stressed me out this week. I just wish I could take care of them the way I did when they were young.
I Runfess and Confess…
I mentioned last month that I was on the hunt for a sugar free electrolyte drink. Coincidentally, I found out about Hydrant from one of my Peloton groups. So far, I am really liking it and the subtle lemon flavor. I hope it will keep working for me through the summer.
That’s all I’ve got for March Runfessions and Confessions today! Is your March going out like a lion or a lamb? See you next Friday for the Ultimate Coffee Date.
It’s funny how random tunes suddenly come to us. “I’m still standing” is so fitting for a day on the skis!
Glad your son is out of ER again. How scary! Does he also live in Chicago or near your place?
Yes very random!
My son lives here in Virginia near us so I was able to jump right into mom mode
Yikes on your son being in the ER! I’m glad he’s getting better, but I agree that the Mom worry doesn’t end when the kids move out.
I think the saying is that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, but it usually the opposite around here!
LOL on your ski songs! I’m still standing is perfect!
Mom worry does not ever end!
I’m Still Standing is a good song to sing while skiing! And I love Unwritten.
The one thing that would stress me out beyond anything else would be one of my kids being in the ER. I’m glad you were with him! And I’m glad everyone’s okay.
Ha yes, it was a perfect song lol
Mom worry never ends and he is ok now thanks
I think it is so much harder parenting adults, lol. I am going to check out Hydrant and see how I like it. Thanks for sharing that!
I love having our adult kids as friends but the worry never ends. I am enjoying the Hydrant-let me know what you think
Oh, you must have been out of your mind with worry over your kids. It doesn’t get easier as they get older, that’s for sure. Hugs to you, mama.
You look like a natural on those skiis to me!
It does not really get any easier I still worry!
Total agreement… the “mommy” role never gets easier, it just progresses to different versions with each stage of our kids’ lives. I’m so glad all went well for you returning to slopes! Music definitely is an awesome vice 🙂
Our roles do change but the worry never stops
It is the worst when your kids are sick, regardless of age. Glad they’re both doing better.
I’ll be curious to hear what you think of Hydrant as it heats up this summer.
yes, they are both ok but stressful for sure. I will let you know how it goes with the Hydrant so far so good
I hope both of your kiddos are feeling much better! It’s scary to have them sick, at any age. That’s interesting the tunes helped relax you. I find myself counting in long races. Whatever works, right?
I never thought of using music that way to relax it just happened I have found myself counting on runs before. I have not planned it but it just happens
I have songs in my head when I run all the time. I once had Shaggy’s It Wasn’t Me for 11 miles of a 12 mile training run!! Hope the offspring are feeling better now.
It is funny t he things that pop up in our heads
