Let’s Catch Up Over Coffee February 2022 Ultimate Coffee Date

Thanks for stopping by to catch up over coffee today with me and Coco. There’s nothing better than a coffee date with friends near and far. Let’s get right to it. Grab your coffee mug and let’s chat. It’s time for the February Ulitmate Coffee Date.

February 2022 Ultimate Coffee Date

Let’s catch up over coffee February 2022

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

You may remember me mentioning that my husband had a mild case of covid a few weeks ago and that I forced him to sequester in our bedroom for 6 days. This ended up being a great plan as I never caught it. However, this also required me to basically wait on him and deliver all of his food, etc. I sort of jokingly created an Amazon wish list of little gifts he could buy me to thank me. Well, my new Nespresso Coffee Maker arrived in the rose gold color I had been coveting.

I definitely see what all of the fuss is about. The Nespresso coffee is a big upgrade from my old Keurig. I am loving the higher quality coffee and the foamy, frothy goodness. We will just think of it as an early Valentine’s Day gift. Moral of the story? Amazon wish lists are a good thing! And, my hubby was a good sport.

Ultimate coffee date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I signed up for a zoom cooking class with Elyse Kopecky from the popular Rise and Run Cookbook. There are 2 options for cook-along zoom classes this month. I chose the session that focuses on breakfast and meal planning as that is my thing. I am a huge fan of starting my day with a healthy and balanced breakfast. While I have a number of my own recipes, I love to learn more about how other runners and nutritionists cook and prep. If you want to find out more about the classes, they are listed here. Let me know if you will be participating as well.

That’s about all I have to spill today for this February Coffee Date. How about you? If we were having coffee, what would you tell me? What kind of coffee maker do you use? Have you ever made a wish list for your hubs? Anyone else signed up for the cooking class?

I’m glad you didn’t get covid and that’s awesome that you ended up getting a coffee maker from your wishlist! 😛

A cooking class sounds like fun! I’d love to do one of those sometime!

Very glad that I did not get it too but who knows!

Way to score on the coffee maker! I’m not even sure what brand we have because I only use it when I have morning house guests, LOL. We do have a Keurig, as well, but I don’t use that either…

      02/04/2022 at 8:27 am

I know you are not a coffee girl 🙂 But mmm the smell of these is amazing in the morning

Yes, your husband is a keeper! You have no idea the discussions we had about whether or not I needed a new treadmill, although granted that was a big ticket item.

I don’t use a coffee maker. My husband has a keurig, but truthfully, he’s not terribly picky about his coffee. Because I hate the taste of coffee, I never use it & just make the tea myself.

The cooking class sounds like fun! I signed up for a Winter reset and a lot of the videos were demos of some of the recipes. Enjoy!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 8:39 am

Yes, I am sure the treadmill required more discussion! As much as I enjoy cooking myself, I do like to see what other runners/nutrition pros are up to. Should be interesting

I hadn’t heard of the Nespresso coffee maker! Glad it is as good as you hoped. I’m using a Mr Coffee, so there you go, lol.

Excited to hear about your cooking class with Elyse!

      02/04/2022 at 8:44 am

If I had other coffee drinkers I would probably make a big pot like that. But, just me so go with a frothy cup and savor it. Yes, the cooking class sounds fun it is not for a few weeks but stay tuned. Or join me?!

What a fun coffee maker and how nice of your husband to take a look at your wish list. I’ve buy treating myself to so much stuff lately it is highly doubtful there will be any gifts in my future. Have fun at the Zoom cooking class!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 9:07 am

Life is short-I am all about treating yourself

  6. Michelle says

I love that your hubby took you up on your wish list 🙂

That cooking class sounds like so much fun! Enjoy!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 9:16 am

He was a good sport about the coffee maker!

  7. Darlene says

    02/04/2022 at 7:47 am

We use separate coffeemakers. I have a Kerrigan and my hubby has a Krups. Though I often drink his coffee. We both only like Starbucks. But I add flavored creamers.

Great idea for a wish list. I finally got that SUP on my list.

That cooking class sounds fun. As you know I’m obsessed with super hero muffins.

    • Coco says

      02/04/2022 at 8:10 am

OMG, this is so funny! We have his and hers coffee makers too!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 9:19 am

I think you should join the class too! It sounds like fun

  8. Coco says

    02/04/2022 at 8:09 am

Hah! We got a new coffee maker too – but a Keurig for my husband. 😉

I stayed in a hotel in London with a Nesspresso machine in the room, and drove housekeeping crazy with my requests for more pods — it takes a lot to fight jet lag. 😉

Can’t wait to hear about the cooking class!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 9:20 am

The nespresso coffee is so good! I can’t believe I waited this long to upgrade. Yes the cooking class does sound fun it is not until the end of the month but stay tuned for details

  9. Jenny says

    02/04/2022 at 9:05 am

It’s funny how many people posted about their coffee makers this month. Not being a coffee drinker it’s hard for me to fully appreciate it, but I do love that mug!
That cooking class sounds awesome! I’m hoping you’ll be sharing some of what you learn.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 9:38 am

My husband doesn’t drink coffee so I get to enjoy it all myself 🙂 Yes, the cooking class does sound fun

  10. Erica @ Erica Finds says

    02/04/2022 at 9:45 am

Glad that plan worked and that your husband appreciated your support 😉

I like the coffee from Nespresso but it gets cold fast. That’s my main complaint with Keurig, too.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 3:42 pm

I probably drink it too fast to worry!

  11. Cari says

    02/04/2022 at 10:05 am

Amazon wish lists are the best. You never know when someone wants to surprise/thank you. Coffee and glitter, LOL. That also fits my friend who is a daycare teacher. She’s convicned she’ll never be glitter free even after she retires.
Look forward to hearing how the class goes. Did you listen to her podcast with Tina Muir? That was a good one — in some ways better than when she’s sharing time with Shalane, who I adore but who tends to get most of the questions.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 3:43 pm

I wish I was a podcast person but they don’t seem to hold my attention well! Yes, amazon wish lists are fab 🙂

  12. Jessie says

    02/04/2022 at 10:30 am

I have an espresso N’espresso- I didn’t realize they had one for regular coffee too! But I do love mine…You were a great nurse to your husband when he was sick and so great that you didn’t end up catching it.

The cooking class sounds really neat, I’m going to look into it further to see if the schedule works. Thanks for posting!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 3:44 pm

I need a full cup of coffee! I am really liking it so far. The cooking classes do sound fun and there is always something to learn right. Let me know if you sign up too

  13. Kim G says

    02/04/2022 at 10:46 am

That cooking class sounds like it will be cool – can’t wait to hear about it.
Jess Sims also raves about her Nespresso machine. I drink coffee daily so I feel like I may need to check this out!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 3:45 pm

It is a huge upgrade from any of my previous coffee machines 🙂

  14. Black Knight says

    02/04/2022 at 11:40 am

Glad you didn’t get Covid and that your husband, after 6 days in the bedroom, now is “free”.
I have the wish list of my grandsons too!!!!
I am not a coffee lover but every morning I drink a Cappuccino.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 3:46 pm

Wish lists are great! Cappuccino sounds very Italian and perfect. Your coffees are so much better over there

  15. Denise says

    02/04/2022 at 5:16 pm

I have a Keurig and use the reusable k-cups, does the Nespresso require special pods?
I saw that cooking class and considered it but haven’t signed up. I have their lasted book and love everything it has in it.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/04/2022 at 6:14 pm

Yes, there are special pods for the Nespresso as well. Let me know if you decide to do the cooking class

  16. Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says

    02/04/2022 at 8:51 pm

I love my nespresso. I do think it is a bit strong and do have to add additional cream. Those classes sound fun!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/05/2022 at 2:31 pm

There are definitely stronger and less strong varieties. I do like the stronger coffees

  17. Zenaida Arroyo says

    02/09/2022 at 10:11 pm

Beautiful coffee maker! I have a combo Keurig which I love. I hope you enjoyed the class. I remember seeing Jessie post about a class she took as well. Or maybe I am getting confused? 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/10/2022 at 3:52 pm

Yes, Jessie did the first cooking class. I am doing the second one in a few weeks
