Let Blow Dry Taxi come to you

Ok Washington area ladies, I’ve got a fun new business to tell you about:

Blow Dry Taxi review

Have a big party to go to? Work event? Date night? We’re busy-we don’t always have time to go the salon to get our hair done. I don’t know about you but my hair always looks better when someone else blow dries it for me. I would probably get it done more often but seriously who has time for that? Enter Blow Dry Taxi a new business that sends the stylist right to your home or office and in about 30 minutes your done and your hair looks fabulous.

Blow Dry Taxi was established in June of 2014 and the owner, Sona, has a staff of 12 stylists on a rotating schedule. You can get a standard blow dry for $50 or a more elaborate up do for $85. Stylists work from 7 am to 9 pm.

I had an early Saturday event on my schedule so I decided to put the blow dry to the test. I scheduled my blow out for late Friday evening. I planned to sleep on it, wake up Saturday morning and not have to worry about doing my hair before the event. Would the blow out be able to last? I put it through the test. My daughter wanted to join the fun as well. Take a look at how it went.

We were instructed to wash our hair and have it wet and ready for the stylist. They arrived 5 minutes before our scheduled appointment. Our stylist, Can, listened to our preferences and began his work. He was able to dry and style both of us in under an hour. Blow Dry Taxi brings all the styling products with them and uses The Kerastase line.

I loved how the layers looked in the back of my hair. I then slept on it and woke up Saturday morning did a quick finger comb, added a little hair spray and I was ready to go to my event. No stress!

My little niece tried Blow Dry Taxi a few weeks later and loved it too.

Why pay a babysitter so you can go to the salon? Have the salon come to you! You can schedule online or with their App free on Itunes.

I’m thinking this would also make a great birthday party or girls night out. Sign up on their website for 10% off your first service. If you live in the Washington area suburbs, you have to try this!

What do think? Something you would use? Ever been to a Blow Dry bar?

(Disclaimer: I was given a complimentary blow dry in exchange for this review however, all opinions are my own and I will be using them again.)

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Deborah I can always count on you for reviewing such cool gear/services. Your hair looks great!! This would be a great alternative to the salon if you have a wedding party or even prom. I went to Dry Bar for my friends wedding and I liked it. I’ll have to keep this in mind – I am lucky my hairstylist is about 2 blocks away for a blowout.

I am very cheap when It comes to stuff like this so I think it’s a bit pricey. Although I do realize it is in the DC area so it’s probably a good deal. I like the the concept of it though.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/21/2014 at 11:49 am

I like the concept. I wouldn’t do it every week but for a party or special occasion it’s a great idea

I could never have my hair done the night before – I wake up with the scariest bed head ever.

And my favorite part of the salon experience is someone else washing my hair LOL. You look great though.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/21/2014 at 5:46 pm

Don’t get me wrong-I love a good salon treatment myself but if you are in a time crunch and need to go to an event this is a great option. I think their pricing is pretty good too

  12. Sue @ This Mama Runs for Cupcakes says

    10/21/2014 at 3:31 pm

I would be all over this if I still had long hair!! I have been to Dry Bar in Georgetown and LOVED it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/21/2014 at 5:47 pm

Yes so same idea but for you, for example, they could come while your kids were there and you wouldn’t need a sitter.

  13. Mary Beth Jackson says

    10/21/2014 at 3:44 pm

I am telling you! You big city ladies get all the cool stuff!!!! My girlfriends will tell you if I won the lottery I would hire someone to drive me around and a stylist to wash and blowdry my hair twice a week! You both looked fantastic by the way!!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/21/2014 at 5:48 pm

haha that’s what I always say about the NY and LA people. My hair always looks better when someone else dries it.

  14. Sharon says

    10/21/2014 at 4:13 pm

Wow! What a great idea! Perfect for special occasions, I wonder if this concept will expand to other areas. Your hair turned out great!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/21/2014 at 5:49 pm

Thanks! They have blow dry bars that just do that in a number of towns but the convenience factor can’t be beat.

  15. Nicole @ Fitful Focus says

    10/21/2014 at 4:30 pm

What a great idea! I wonder if they have something like that in NYC! We have blow dry bars, where you go in just for a dry and easy style, but I haven’t heard of anything that comes to you!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/21/2014 at 5:50 pm

I know there are lots of blow dry bars but that takes way more time right? I love that they come to you and you can be in a bathrobe.

  16. Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says

    10/21/2014 at 6:32 pm

The salon I go to has some stylists that will do a blow out for $15. While I love the idea of someone coming to my home to tame my locks, $50? Maybe for a special occasion…

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/21/2014 at 8:44 pm

I for sure wouldn’t do it everyday but for a special party yes. I have never heard of any salon doing it for $15 around here!

  17. Kristy @Runaway Bridal Planner says

    10/21/2014 at 10:40 pm

Wow, this is a brilliant idea!!
You guys both look great, I have long brown hair too, I never thought about having it blow dried to create long lasting waves. This is awesome I am in love with the idea of this come to you taxi service!!!!!

This looks so awesome. I’ve been wanting to hit up a blow dry bar. I hope they start doing this in San Fran because it would make my weekends so amazingly easy.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/22/2014 at 7:50 am

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/22/2014 at 7:51 am

It definitely saves a ton of time and you can have it done while your kids are home-bonus!

  21. Amanda @ Diary of a Semi-Health Nut says

    10/22/2014 at 1:19 pm

Um this looks freaking amazing! I am horrible at blow drying my hair so the only time it really happens is when I’m getting my hair done. Such a good idea for a company to come to you…it’s all about convenience these days!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/22/2014 at 3:35 pm
