Our local Road Runner Sports store has long been my go to for shoes and gear however, as I am quickly learning there is so much more going on. Road Runner Sports is a place to learn, run & shop.

Last weekend, we had a private seminar on injury prevention and pre run stretching. Recap and demo here. Our Moms Run This Town group learned a lot of really practical advice to implement into our running routines. Road Runner loves to work with local groups to offer classes and seminars and also offers running club discounts. There are 40 locations across the country. Check their events calendar here.

Shoe Dog

Have your local store video you running on their treadmill to help you decide which pair of shoes is right for you. This whole process just takes a few minutes and can be really helpful in making sure that you are in the right pair of shoes.

Adventure Runs

Adventure run|road runner sports|running|run|mrtt

Not only do all of the stores offer weekly group runs, from April to October each of the Road Runner Sports stores holds Adventure Runs. Check your local store for info. If you have never been to one-run don’t walk to next month’s run. Firstly, you are given tons of raffle tickets upon check in and you can earn many more while checking in at certain spots along your run route. The runs are family friendly and non competitive. The adventure run has you running or walking to local spots (yoga studios or yogurt shops etc.) where you gather more tickets. Run as little or as far as you wish. Meet back at the store for free beer and raffles. Our MRTT group seems to always win free shoes and gear. Last night, my local store had a grand re opening adventure run-so much fun!

Not only does Road Runner carry all of your favorite brands of running gear, they also have their own R Gear apparel for men and women. They have really upped their game with tons of new colors and styles for spring. All are available on line and in store.

    I would probably try the Glycerin. I like neutral shoes with cushion to keep the plantar fasciitis beast away!

    We don’t have a Road Runner Sports here, but having just $$ on some Brooks, I wouldn’t mind winning some (Ghost, btw).

    I was mostly Brooks until I discovered Newtons, but I’m not faithful, I rotate through several pairs/brands.

    I would love to try the Brooks Ghost.

    I bought my very first pair of running shoes from the Road Runner catalog a long, long time ago when the San Diego warehouse was their only physical store. I always say I was the original VIP member, which isn’t true of course, but I do go way back. I even dressed as the Shoe Dog when I ran a costume party half marathon a few years back! Obviously I love RRS.

    I love Road Runner! I wish they had a closer store to me because it’s an entire day’s trip to get there, shop, and come home. I’ve only ever bought running shoes after being “analyzed” in a treadmill…it’s important to get the right shoes! And I’m in the market for a new pair!

    I really like Road Runner Sports! I go when I cross the bridge from Philly over to New Jersey, I don’t think we have any locations in the city, so it’s less likely for me to get to attend those adventure runs, though they sound fun!

    This is an awesome giveaway! I wore the Ghost 5’s a few years ago but tried the Glycerins and they look really good too!

    I seriously think I just need to move to a bigger town! I’m so dang green with envy over all the cool things yall have! I would love to do this adventure run it sounds like such fun and all the seminars are great ways to learn and mingle with running friends.     I go to the Road Runner Sports up here often, and I tried one of their adventure runs last year. It was a lot of fun! I’d love to try Brooks shoes but I’m not sure which one.

    I took my son to RRSports for running shoes last year, and I was really impressed with Shoe Dog! He’s had minimal issues with his feet wearing the shoes they fitted him for.

    Sounds like a fun experience!

    Sounds like a great store. Most of the running stores here organize monthly or weekly runs often with food afterwards. I go once in a while but as I like to run by myself, I usually only go when there are special evenings. However, it is very competitive. Boo.

      Really I didn’t picture it as competitive there! These events are so not competitive which is why I like them so much. Lots of us bring kids along too.

    I haven’t run in Brooks in a long time, but I’m eyeballing the Pure Grit 4. I used to LOVE the Pure Flows back in my road running days, and the Pure Grit’s appear to be the trail version!
