Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. I am leaping through this last week of February embracing the extra day. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and fun.
Leaping through February Weekly Run Down
Sunday- 8.5 mile run + stretch
Longest run in a long time! Really thankful to be back here where I am. this quote really spoke to me today.
Monday- morning walk + upper body strength + core + yoga for hips + afternoon walk
We got a taste of spring today with temps into the 60’s! I had to take advantage with a morning walk with friends and later another Peloton walk.
Tuesday- 4 mile run + stretch + mobility
My legs felt a little tired after Sunday’s longer run but I got it done. It was more like April this morning with temps in the mid 60’s for a few hours. It did not last but I sure took advantage of it when I could.
Later, I met my little sister for coffee.
Wednesday- Peloton walk + upper & lower body strength + core + stretch
A little bit of everything today. I was excited to hit my 4K on Peloton. Now I just have to keep up this leaping pace all year round!
Thursday- 5 mile DC Monument Run + stretch
We took advantage of our extra day of February and it sure did feel like February today. Nothing like a 40 degree temp drop! I headed downtown with my squad for a monumental run. (See what I did there?) The Cherry Blossoms might not be out for another 2 weeks but it’s always a beautiful run. Bonus-no crowds!
This is a very Washington, DC photo. You can see the Presidential helicopters flying by that just took off from the White House seconds before. They travel in a line of 3 when The President is on board. The 3rd one is just off to the right.
Friday-Peloton walk + upper body strength + core + afternoon walk
I woke a little sore in a good way from my deep tissue massage yesterday. My guy really got into my hips and glutes (as requested) and I was feeling it. I kept it on the lower side of things today.
Daydreaming of my next run with the new Glycerin 21’s.
Saturday-rest day
Rest day for me a few Peloton stretches and mobility classes.
That’s my week of Leaping through February! How was yours?

I can’t wait to try out those Glycerins too! They will have to wait for me to return from California, tho. Taking my new Cascadias with me for those mountain trails!

I am excited to try them on a shorter run first. I used to wear them a few years ago. We will definitely plan a DC visit

Yay! 8.5 miles is definitely getting up there- it must have felt so good. And yes, I love that quote.
I love the photos from the monument run. It must be so cool to live in that area.
I think our “winter” is over- the temps are forecast to be in the 80s (upper 80s some days) for the next ten days and I imagine it will only get hotter. When people start talking about “spring” up north my heart sinks a little but oh well- it is what it is.
Deborah Brooks says
Running in DC is always fun and we should do it more often. I like spring but thumbs down to summer running here
Jenn says
That landmark/monument route looks so amazing. I would love to get to run in DC. It’s on my list, but I just need to get it scheduled.
