I shared last week in my Runfessions post about the website that was stealing my posts and photos and publishing them on their own site. Would you believe they even went so far as to steal the post where I outed them!? I am assuming they set up a code to just capture my posts as they were published but really!
Anyway, I filled out a formal DMCA abuse report with their web host. They were very nice and helped me to navigate the process. They removed all of my content from the other site as well as lots of other content. Right now, the site is still up but with no articles.
I am feeling quite empowered! I’ve decided I am in my Don’t F**k With Me Era. Hopefully, this will discourage future theft of my intellectual property as well as others.

My 6 week FBI Citizen’s Academy program just flew by! The last session was this week. We are having a “graduation” ceremony at Quantico tomorrow. I am very excited to get do a tour of The FBI Academy where all the agents do their training. It happens to be about 30 minutes from my house. I am even more excited that we will get to take a tour of the mock “city” they train in and have the opportunity to shoot some firearms with the FBI instructors. More details to follow in my weekly run down this weekend!

Ugh on having your blog content stolen. How did you find out about it?
Congrats on your FBI Citizen’s Academy graduation! We got to tour the training facility many years ago with an FBI agent friend. It’s very cool.
I was getting a ping back every time he posted my posts. So weird and super frustrating! Definitely excited to tour Quantico
Glad you got all your stolen blog property taken down. Like I said, it’s happened to me a couple of times and it’s not fun. I’ll bet they install something that just imports it automatically. Ugh. Congrats on the graduation!
Yes, I do think they had a code that just pulled mine. Such an annoying and weird thing to happen

Oh, that’s funny. So they stole your post about how someone was stealing your posts, and posted on their blog… so stupid. You’re right, obviously there wasn’t a person reading them first. Well, glad you got that sorted out! Maybe you already answered this, but how did you find out about it in the first place?

yes, I am excited about seeing Quantico tomorrow. Although it was super annoying to deal with the blog theft, I feel very impowered having handled it myself

It was super annoying and I am feeling empowered that I got it handled on my own. I will definitely be in Chicago in September for the Brooks team meetup and will make sure I can see you

That is just crazy about the website stealing your posts. But you aren’t the only one that has happened to. A few years ago, I had something similar happen to me–they were republishing entire posts of mine on their website. They were doing the same thing to Kim Greene and another blogger that I used to follow as well. I also saw Another Mother Runner’s blog on that site. I tried filing a complaint, but they were in Pakistan. I think this is a thing. It was really creepy seeing my words on another site. I hope your situation comes to an end.
yes the other site had republished at least 8 of my post in full. I really could not figure out what the purpose was but assume they were somehow monetizing them. It was a real hassle trying to get them taken down but I was proud of myself for figuring it out
