Happy November friends! Thanks for joining Coco and me for the November Ultimate Coffee Date Link up. Since we can’t all have coffee together in real life, these posts are a great way to catch up with all of your friends and meet some ones. So grab your favorite mug and join us!
November Ultimate Coffee Date
If we were having coffee, I would tell you...My soup club starts up again tomorrow and this is the perfect weather for it. I have a couple of new friends joining us and I can’t wait to see what everyone whips up this week. I will be explaining more about how our club works and how you can start your own coming soon.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I love November! My birthday is coming up on the 14th. While I am not thrilled about adding another year to my candle, at least there’s cake and presents. 🙂 Well there better be!
I also love Thanksgiving! Really looking forward to hosting our whole family for dinner at our new house. The best part will be that my daughter will be home for 10 days and I can’t wait for us all to be together. My son went out to Indiana to visit her but I have not seen her in a while.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I mentioned how running has been hard for me lately. I feel like I am finally starting to get my groove back a little bit. After doing the MCM 10K last week, I decided that I would do a 10K every weekend in November to try to get back into better running shape. This is either the stupidest thing I’ve decided to do or the smartest. I will keep you posted! Off to the Run For The Parks 10K tomorrow.
Mary Beth Jackson says
yay! We are both running 10K’s this morning! I think it is a great idea! Love the pic of the kids I think that is sweet that your son went out to visit his big sis! <3
I hope you have a little something fun planned for your birthday 🙂 cake is a good start! No dinner plans for Thanksgiving yet! Who knows where I may end up!
Deborah Brooks says
Have a great race this weekend! See too bad you are too far away for Thanksgiving (at least I know you would like my veggie food) Thanks for stopping by for coffee
Tamieka says

coco says
soup club? sounds fun!
are you gonna run veteran’s 10k next weekend too?
Deborah Brooks says
Soup club is amazing have to get cooking today. I am going to do a small 10K on actual Veteran’s Day which is Friday called On Eagles Wings in Falls Church. It’s a quaint local race but lots of fun. How about you?
Coco says
Oh, wow on the 10K streak! Sounds like fun. I got hit with a cold this week, so I’m laying low this weekend. I forgot our birthdays are so close – mine is the 16th! – we should celebrate together.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes you have the same birthday as my husband! Yes we need to lunch or yoga or shopping or something lets figure it out!!
Kimberly Hatting says
Good luck with all of your 10K’s…that’s the perfect distance to run each weekend to get the mojo back. It’s just far enough to make your body work, but it’s not so far that it’ll destroy you for the day LOL
Deborah Brooks says
Yes that’s the plan!!
HoHo Runs says
I love it when the whole family is together. Our college kid drove in and we were together last night for a birthday celebration. Happy Birthday to you, by the way — a little early. My MIL still enjoys hosting Thanksgiving dinner so I all I have to do is show up with a couple of dishes. Christmas dinner is the big event for me. I don’t think running a 10k every weekend sounds crazy at all! I’d be out running a race today if I could have found a local one. Thanks for the coffee date!
Deborah Brooks says
It is great when the whole family is together-the important things! Showing up with a few dishes sounds great. Love the local races this time of year. Thanks for stopping in today and have a great weekend
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says
So I don’t think doing a 10k every weekend is a bad idea! 6 miles is my go to base run–sounds perfect to me!
Deborah Brooks says
I hope it helps me get my running mojo back and feel like my old self out there. Thanks!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
10K every weekend – wow! I find 10ks to be one of the harder distances for me. I think it’s a great idea as a way to jumpstart your running.
An early Happy Birthday to you!!
Deborah Brooks says
For me they are hard enough to feel like I had a great workout but not too hard to knock me down for the rest of the day. I hope it works! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend
Jessica says
Thanks for hosting! The soup club sounds amazing!

Wonderful to have time with your daughter! I love the 10K idea- I love that race, but there aren’t any that really fit for my schedule or a location nearby- I will have to look into it though- it’s good to keep you motivated I am sure!
Deborah Brooks says
This time of the year we have a lot of 10K’s so I figured, why no?!
Megan @ Meg Go Run says
I love your black pants with the cutouts down the leg! I’m 34, am I too old for those!? Where do I get them?
Deborah Brooks says
I think you mean the pants my daughter is wearing? We have a matching pair so I would say we are both not too old to wear them.WE got them at the Chelsea Collective last year.
Megan @ Meg Go Run says
Yes! They look great, thanks!

The soup sounds really interesting! I think challenging yourself to do a 10K each weekend sounds great! Hopefully that’ll shake things up. I’m also hosting Thanksgiving in my new home for the first time…so nervous but excited!

A 10K a weekend is a great idea! I have been toying with doing a 5K every weekend from now until the end of the year. I am finally wanting to run again so I thought it would be fun to do something fun

I’m just getting back into running after a loong hiatus. Well, I was running but it was in the form of 1 minute or less sprint intervals so no distance or stamina. 🙁

The 10k distance is really great, I only wish there were more 10ks in my area. We have more 5ks than anything else.
Happy early, birthday! Hope you get some running gifts! 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
This time of year we have a ton of 10K races and then nothing all winter but 5K’s so I have to take advantage

You must be excited about your daughter being home for the holidays =) That will be so nice.
And running – it comes and goes I feel like. Enjoy your November running!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I just ran a 10km without really training for it and was happy with the outcome =)
