November Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you...My soup club starts up again tomorrow and this is the perfect weather for it. I have a couple of new friends joining us and I can’t wait to see what everyone whips up this week. I will be explaining more about how our club works and how you can start your own coming soon.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I love November! My birthday is coming up on the 14th. While I am not thrilled about adding another year to my candle, at least there’s cake and presents. 🙂 Well there better be!

I also love Thanksgiving! Really looking forward to hosting our whole family for dinner at our new house. The best part will be that my daughter will be home for 10 days and I can’t wait for us all to be together. My son went out to Indiana to visit her but I have not seen her in a while.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I mentioned how running has been hard for me lately. I feel like I am finally starting to get my groove back a little bit. After doing the MCM 10K last week, I decided that I would do a 10K every weekend in November to try to get back into better running shape. This is either the stupidest thing I’ve decided to do or the smartest. I will keep you posted! Off to the Run For The Parks 10K tomorrow.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/05/2016 at 8:01 am

Soup club is amazing have to get cooking today. I am going to do a small 10K on actual Veteran’s Day which is Friday called On Eagles Wings in Falls Church. It’s a quaint local race but lots of fun. How about you?

  4. Coco says

    11/05/2016 at 6:50 am

Oh, wow on the 10K streak! Sounds like fun. I got hit with a cold this week, so I’m laying low this weekend. I forgot our birthdays are so close – mine is the 16th! – we should celebrate together.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/05/2016 at 8:05 am

Yes you have the same birthday as my husband! Yes we need to lunch or yoga or shopping or something lets figure it out!!

  5. Kimberly Hatting says

    11/05/2016 at 7:22 am

Good luck with all of your 10K’s…that’s the perfect distance to run each weekend to get the mojo back. It’s just far enough to make your body work, but it’s not so far that it’ll destroy you for the day LOL

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/05/2016 at 8:08 am

      Yes that’s the plan!!

  6. HoHo Runs says

    11/05/2016 at 7:44 am

I love it when the whole family is together. Our college kid drove in and we were together last night for a birthday celebration. Happy Birthday to you, by the way — a little early. My MIL still enjoys hosting Thanksgiving dinner so I all I have to do is show up with a couple of dishes. Christmas dinner is the big event for me. I don’t think running a 10k every weekend sounds crazy at all! I’d be out running a race today if I could have found a local one. Thanks for the coffee date!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/05/2016 at 8:12 am

It is great when the whole family is together-the important things! Showing up with a few dishes sounds great. Love the local races this time of year. Thanks for stopping in today and have a great weekend

    11/05/2016 at 7:47 am

So I don’t think doing a 10k every weekend is a bad idea! 6 miles is my go to base run–sounds perfect to me!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/05/2016 at 8:14 am

I hope it helps me get my running mojo back and feel like my old self out there. Thanks!

    11/05/2016 at 8:10 am

10K every weekend – wow! I find 10ks to be one of the harder distances for me. I think it’s a great idea as a way to jumpstart your running.

An early Happy Birthday to you!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/05/2016 at 8:16 am

For me they are hard enough to feel like I had a great workout but not too hard to knock me down for the rest of the day. I hope it works! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend

  9. Jessica says

    11/05/2016 at 8:15 am

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/05/2016 at 12:17 pm

I think you mean the pants my daughter is wearing? We have a matching pair so I would say we are both not too old to wear them.WE got them at the Chelsea Collective last year.
