Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down. This week began our summer adventure in Italy. Here’s a peek into our week of travels, eats, fitness and Island Hopping on the Amalfi coast.
Island hopping on the amalfi coast
Sunday-Bike bootcamp + tread walk + stretch
I saw a new bike bootcamp pop up that alternated cycling and core and thought I’d give it a go. Nice change and fun to do. More thunderstorms had me walking on the tread. Then, it was last minute laundry and packing.
Monday-1 mile walk warm up + 3.5 mile run + core and stretch
Humidty is just ridiculous around here but thought it a good idea to get a few miles in before heading to the airport for my long flight to Rome. I was happy that this run went a little better and I need to walk less. We will call that a win!
Tuesday– travel day to Rome. I did not sleep too well on the plane but it is worth it to wake up in Italy. We boarded our friend’s boat for a week around the Amalfi Coast. I did my Peloton stretch class to get my blue check.
Wednesday-Peloton walk + core + barre + upper body strength
I got in about an hour of Peloton workouts before we headed out to explore Ischia. It’s referred to as the big sister of Capri, where we will be in a few days. It was a super hot day here! We headed over to visit the Castillo Araganose and were rewarded with some amazing views. Later, I had my first gelato. Everything tastes much better over here!
Thursday-30 min Peloton cycle w arms
I got in a quick Peloton cycle w arms weights before taking advantage of our amazing scenery. We hit the jet skis, had pizza and walked around Ischia. Later, we went back into town for an evening concert at a gorgeous outdoor amphitheater. A great day!
Friday- Peloton cycle + core
Our schedule got mixed up a bit due to the weather. The seas were a little rough and we ended up in capri instead of Portofino today. Anyway, got in some Peloton in the morning and then we ventured into town for sightseeing and of course more eating. Seems like so many Americans are here and it’s super crowded.
Saturday-Peloton walk + core & upper body
Just a short workout today before heading out to explore Amalfi. Many more pics on my IG. Beautiful views and more pizza!
What a beautiful place to visit! It looks like you are making the most of it. I’m so glad you got the green light to run before you left–nothing hanging over your head to dampen this trip!

We will be in the Amalfi Coast (I think staying in Portofino, but need to check, my sister planned it all) next spring with my sister/Dad, and family for their spring break, after they had such a great time visiting London/Paris this year we decided to do another trip together. I’ll have to ask you for some recs! We’ll also spend some time in Rome at the start for some history. I think my sister wants to do a day trip to Pompeii as well.
Great job fitting in those Peloton classes to kick off each day!
Yes, let me know when you are planning and I will give you some tips
Well, the main thing I got from this post is- I need a friend with a boat! This all looks incredible- what an amazing trip. And as usual I’m impressed that you’re keeping up your streak and getting in those workouts!
ha ha yes, that really did help quite a bit!
Welcome to Italy! Amalfi coast and Sorrento peninsula are wonderful.
When you will be in Rome, if you have the time, try to plan a visit to Tarquinia.
Let me know if you need some information.
Looks like an amazing time – enjoy!
we sure are thanks!
Wow, what a week, Deb. Beautiful pictures and what a wonderful vacation. Have the best time!!
Where does one find friends with a boat in Italy? Asking for me! LOL
ha ha can’t help with that part! We are very lucky 🙂
just gorgeous! and getting your workouts in. Been thinking about you as I know it’s BLAZING down where you are at the moment. But what a stunning area! And yes loads and loads and loads of tourists (lots of Americans) on the Amalfi coast. Nice to be “doing it” by boat for sure!
It is quite hot down here! We will get off the boat tomorrow and spend some more time in Rome and Florence.
“but it is worth it to wake up in Italy.”
Absofuckinglutely
