Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. As the week started, we were still in New York and taking it all in. And, “I want to be a part of it, New York New York”. I made the most of my time there before heading home. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and fun.
I want to be a part of it
Sunday- 45 min hike at Peloton + 10 miles of walking
I was lucky enough to get off of the wait list and into this 45 min Peloton hiking class. It was so much fun and what a workout! I will most definitely be adding these workouts into my schedule. We spent the rest of the day walking all around to lunch and shopping on this gorgeous day.
Monday-More walking around NYC and Peloton core/stretch
I had planned to run today but I totally destroyed my feet walking in heels. My butt was so sore from the hiking class! A sign that I need to do more of those. I did a Peloton stretch and core and headed back out to enjoy one last day in NYC.
My husband had a dinner meeting so that gave me another opportunity to see Cari for dinner.
Tuesday-Return home
We had an early train back home and then it was a mad dash to the grocery store. I did a super quick turn around to host a small work dinner for my husband’s people. Oura signaled it was time for a rest day. So while I was bummed I missed my morning run with the squad, a stretch class was it for today.
Wednesday- tread hike + core + upper body strength
Feeling a little tired this morning but anxious to get back to my regular workout schedule. I got in another Peloton hike class and some good upper body core. Later, It was time for my first FBI Citizen Academy class. No photos allowed! I will tell you more later.
If you missed my post on Peloton Hikes and how they can be added into your workout schedule find it here.
Thursday – 4 mile run + core + stretch
Finally with my squad for our morning run. It was really toasty out there and the allergies were off the chart! Moving forward is a win.
Friday- 4 mile walk + core + gardening
It was a gorgeous morning so I took up an offer from a friend for a nice hilly walk. I figured I will get that strength done tomorrow when it’s raining all day! Admittedly, I am no gardener however I took on the challenge to get some planters done on the deck. It’s always harder than I expect but I did it!
Saturday-45 Min Peloton hike + core
It was a rainy day so I took the opportunity to get in another Peloton hike. I’m loving these right now!
My week was kind of all over the place. I did the best I could fitting it all in while still being a part of it! Hope to get back on schedule starting today!

Yay for a bonus dinner with Cari! Good job on the quick turnaround to host a work dinner for your husband.
The weather last week was so nice. This coming week’s rainy forecast isn’t looking so good.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes a busy but in a good way week
Wendy says
What a busy week! I’m sure it felt good to see Cari. Glad to see you so happy!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks it is nice to get to do fun stuff and see friends
Coco says
I’m so glad you got into that class with RK! I’ve shied away from the hikes because of my hamstring, but maybe I can dip my toes in them now.
You had a lot going on this week! You are a part of it all!
Deborah Brooks says
I did have a lot going on with lots of fun stuff to keep me entertained. I am really liking the hikes!
Kimberly Hatting says
You are really rocking those hikes! I’m envious of all that NYC fun 😉 You had a busy week, but great job keeping the fitness on-point.
Deborah Brooks says
thanks it was a fun few days in NYC.
Melissa says
Wow looks like a busy week for you. especially getting off the train and then right to host dinner! I had no idea there was a Peloton hike feature – that’s cool!
Deborah Brooks says
yes it is and I love it right now
Jenny says
Wow, that sounds like a really fun time in NYC. I went back and read your post about the peloton hiking classes- I’ll bet they’re great. Walking at an incline on the treadmill is my favorite cross training these days.
Ha ha- walking in heels is to be avoided at all costs! Seriously- I don’t think my feet could do it anymore.
Deborah Brooks says
The heels were a total rookie mistake! I have an event this week and I am going to be more careful for sure

Hello Cari! It was boiling hot here this weekend and I had my half-marathon with no chance to have trained in the heat. I was going to do a race report for the link up but it was too whiny (frankly!) and disappointing, although I did complete it at least!
Deborah Brooks says
congratulations to you and I wish you would come back to the link up with your recap. Complain away!!
Jenn says
Billy Joel! Cari! Squad! You got in so many things and that’s incredible! I love to see it. I’m glad you had such a wonderful trip and got in all the things you wanted!
Deborah Brooks says
yes it was a great few days for sure
Warren Footz says
it’s been almost a decade, but NYC is my bucket list next to everything west coast….I’ve only been 4 times, once for the marathon…and, um, I’ve never been to Times Square…which is odd right.
but, well, now….I want to go to just check out the On store…
Deborah Brooks says
Hope you get back there soon
Jessie says
I need to read up on the Oura, it sounds a lot like my Whoop, which was very unhappy with me this week when I was sick. But I’m finally back in the green post illness.
how cute is the Peloton instructor’s yellow outfit? Walking in heels will def crush the feet…what a fun trip you had to NYC! I’m also so impressed you turned around and hosted upon return, I could never do that!
Deborah Brooks says
I am amazed that the Oura can detect things like sickness and does a great job with predicting cycles as well. I love the sleep and recovery data the most.
Cari says
So glad you got into the hiking class to get into them as a whole. Of course selfishly happiest about the parts of your weekend that involved our mischief. I feel you on the allergies. Some of the runs have been nuts
Deborah Brooks says
Seeing you twice was definitely a highlight!
