Happy Friday! You are probably aware of my love of Skirt Sports’ great running skirts and active wear so I was beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to host a trunk show with their new fall gear. I first heard about this amazing idea while out in Boulder for the ambassador retreat and knew I had to get in on it.

How does one host a Skirt Sports Trunk Show?

I received 3 huge boxes filled with all the new fall gear. I seriously thought about just running away with it all. Alas, I set up a mini store in my living room.

I invited some of my besties over for dinner, drinks and fashion. I plied them with yummy eats from Chipotle, wine and cupcakes.

Then it was time to try on all the new gear.

The new toasty line was very popular with my guests and I can’t wait to get my hands on some of it myself. I particularly love the new toasty cheeks running tights with a little extra fleece lining just where you want it in the butt and thighs. The toasty vest is sure to become one of my go to pieces this fall as well.

I was so busy chit chatting I forgot to take a picture of me in them!

Because Skirt Sports is available only on line, having a trunk show gave everyone a chance to try everything on and feel the fabrics in person. All the ladies left with a wish list of gear and full tummies. Want to check out the fall collection for yourself? Head on over to Skirt Sports and use my 20% code (CMR20).

There is something just so much more relaxing about trying on clothes in the comfort of your own home with friends. Hope I have the chance to host another trunk show next spring. Thanks Skirt Sports! This in not a sponsored post. My love of Skirt Sports is my own.

Ever been to trunk show? Do you have more workout clothes than regular clothes?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

It has been forever since I have been to a trunk show, but I hosted a few last year. They can be stressful but they are so much fun!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/30/2016 at 6:30 am

They are stressful yes but lots of fun to host. Now I just have to resist not buying it all myself 🙂

Wow, wish I lived near you so I could have tried the clothing on. I only order online when it is a style and size I have already purchased. Unfortunately, Lululemon gets most of my money now since I know their clothing so well!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/30/2016 at 7:47 am

Well we must do something about that!! The sizing is very similar you should check it out

How fun!!! I wanna get my hands on those leggings too- they look awesome!

Their leggings are great I highly recommend them!

This sounds so fun! I didn’t realize you could do something like this, I hope someone I know locally has one. 🙂

It was great fun! Check out their stuff

I think a trunk show sounds like so much fun! And you know I love Skirt Sports! 😉 I don’t know if it will get cold enough here for the Toasy Collection, but the idea of extra fleece in the butt area makes me happy!

Looks so fun!! I’ve been to Cabi and tupperwear parties, etc, but never to a running clothes home shopping event… I bet I would spend more money than I have at any other party if I went to one.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/30/2016 at 2:41 pm

NO sense wasting money on tupperware LOL 🙂

  8. Liz @ I Heart Vegetables says

What a fun event!! I definitely feel like I workout better/harder when I have cute workout clothes on 😉 haha

Sounds like a fun ladies night. I hate buying clothes online because I can never try them on first. This is a great idea.

Looks like a very fun evening! I definitely have more workout clothes than “civilian” ones!

    09/30/2016 at 12:49 pm

Oh I wish I lived by you! Not just to attend your trunk show, of course…

I need those toasty cheeks tights!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/30/2016 at 2:41 pm

Of course!! I think you would love the toasty cheeks 🙂

    09/30/2016 at 12:54 pm

Oh wow, what an awesome concept this is! More businesses should do this with their ambassadors I think. Word of mouth and actually being able to try on and touch and feel products are by far better sellers than online items!
This looks like a fun night and if I was anywhere near you I’d come!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/30/2016 at 2:45 pm

      Now that would be fun!

  16. Carmy says

    • Deborah Brooks says

      Yes a must have!

  17. Kimberly Hatting says

I think I actually have more regular clothes than running gear…but the gap is closing. Every time I go to a store, I’m immediately drawn to the workout clothes first…..I love seeing all the funky color combinations! Running tights/capri’s are definitely in a very fun (colorful) place right now 😉

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/30/2016 at 7:47 pm

And you do have some great colorful tights too!

  18. Dani @ Dani California Cooks says

Ha ha these are way more fun!!

  19. Anna @ Piper's Run says

I love those toasty tights! I can see why they were a hit! I think for an online company, having truck shows is a great idea. I’m weary of buying things from online shops since I like trying on stuff first.

Yes exactly! The toasty tights are great check them out

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/01/2016 at 8:45 am

Oh the laundry! Trunk shows are fun -food friends and running clothes

  26. Kayla @ Blondes Have More Run says

This looks like so much fun! I would love to host a trunk show! Plus it’s nice to be able to try on all the stuff you may not get a chance too because you shop mostly online!

    • Deborah Brooks says

  28. Esther says

I have been to a jewelry trunk show, but never one for clothes. It would be so dangerous as I am sure I would want everything there!
What a fun even to have for your friends 🙂

We hosted a Lucy Activewear trunk show at the gym a few weeks ago and it was a major hit! I’ll have to look into a Skirt Sports show. I just bought my first skirt from them a few months ago and it totally rocks!

    • Deborah Brooks says

It’s a great way to test out the new fall gear in person.

  32. Kathryn @ Dancing to Running says

    10/02/2016 at 5:30 am

Sounds like you ladies had a fun evening. I’m always weary of not being able to try on a clothing line for sizing before I order, so a trunk show sounds like a great way to work around that.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/02/2016 at 12:06 pm

I will certainly invite you over next time!

  33. Kristy from Southern In Law says

    10/02/2016 at 6:56 pm

I’ve never been to a trunk show but an activewear trunk show sounds like my kinda fun!

I probably have an equal split of activewear and “regular” clothes – but that’s only because I have to have everyday clothes, meeting/work/event clothes AND activewear 😛

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/03/2016 at 7:04 am

I do try to avoid regular clothes whenever possible!
