Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. Hey spring! Is that you? It sure feels like spring has sprung and I am here for it. Spring is my second favorite season (followed by fall) and this week we were blessed with sunny and warm temps.
Hey Srping is that you? Weekly Run Down
Sunday- fly home to DC
While it is totally worth it, it is a little bit of a production to fly home from Aspen. A short flight to Denver and then a layover and flight back to DC. With the daylight savings and the time change, I’m not sure what time it is! Don’t worry, I got in my daily core and stretch before our flights.
Monday-Tread hike + core + full body strength + afternoon walk
I was pretty wiped this morning but also determined to get back to my workout and nutrition plan. I enjoyed many delicious meals last week (no regrets) but it always feels good to get back to a routine. I’m halfway through my 6 week workout plan with ATUMobile. I’ve asked them to up the intensity these last few weeks so looking forward to that.
Tuesday-barre + core + 3 mile power walk
I had to attend an appointment with my mom today so my morning was busy. It was a gorgeous almost 70 degree, sunny day and I knew I had to get out and enjoy this afternoon. Hey spring! Always the best way to clear my head! Since I did not have a workout photo, here is my delicious Harissa Salmon Power Bowl I made for dinner.
Wednesday-treadmill hike + full body strength + core
I had my annual physical today. Honestly, I was dreading stepping on that InBody machine but was pleasantly surprised to see how my body composition had changed this year. I’m going to share more on that in a longer post. Oh, and gosh, I hate fasting for blood work! Anyway, my workout got pushed to later in the day but I got it done.
Thursday- 2.5 mile run + 1 mile walk + core + stretch
Turns out I had a solo run today which is not really my jam. I managed a 2.5 mile run and then popped on my weighted vest and walked for another mile. While it is still warm out, the sun was AWAL today. Hey spring!
Friday- 3 mile power walk + lower body strength + yoga
It was a little chillier today but a nice power walk always feels good as a warm up to some lower body strength. I noticed I was about to hit my 250th yoga class so, a nice hip opening stretch was really appreciated.
Saturday-power walk + core
I went down the rabbit hole of starting some spring cleaning in the kitchen. Once you do one thing…well you know how that goes. I made a lot of progress though before heading out for an afternoon walk and core class.
Blogger meetup! I am having lunch with Darlene and Coco today!
One reason we chose Breckenridge for skiing is because it is easier to get to, but Aspen is lovely once you’re there!
I’ve got some plans for spring cleaning but haven’t put them into action yet.
That makes sense!n My husband skied at all 4 Aspen mountains this time so he was very happy
Ooh! Enjoy your blogger meetup! That sounds FUN. Nice week of workouts, and I need that hip stretch. My hip flexors are so tight. Nice job getting that annual physical out of the way. Yeah, fasting for the blood work is no fun.
I do love the shorter yoga hip stretch classes and have to remember how good they feel
Ditto to Jenny’s comment about hip flexors. Ugh, one of my most-tight areas on my body, LOL. We had a delicious taste of Spring here last eek as well. It came to an abrupt halt once Saturday hit, though.
Thee are a lot of good short hip stretches classes on Peloton if you want any recs
how do you like your weighted vest? I keep thinking about getting one… congrats on your milestone yoga class! nice job this week after vacation.
I’ve been using it for a year and I love it!
Once I get back home, i feel the urge to start purging. It’s time.
Great week for you, even if it was busy with a lot of running around!
purging can feel good!
I always get an urge to redecorate my house after I get back from vacation/time away. You see everything in a different light! We had great flights from Denver to Detroit (our closest airport). We were pleasantly surprised to have our ski equipment waiting for us in the luggage area. That’s always a win!!
Hope you are all back on schedule this week. Great job getting your workouts in!
that is a win indeed!
Lunch was so fun.
Fingers crossed for a safe flight home.
great to see you!!
I love that you got some spring like weather after all the cold temps! Yay.
Harissa sauce is so good. I use it in ramen bowls and it’s so delicious. What else do you use it for?
Good for you for getting your physical done! That always feels good!
Hooray for the blogger meetup!
