Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. Hello November! One of my favorite times of the year. Not only is Thanksgiving my favorite holiday, but my husband and myself have our birthdays this month. It is always such a frenetic busy month and this year is poised to be no different. Here’s a peek into my week.

Hello November Weekly Run Down
Sunday-fly home from Vegas + stretch class
I was up at the crack of dawn for an early and long flight home to DC. Happy to report I had no issues at all with security lines or delayed fights. The facial recognition security line is the best! Between the daylight savings time change and the 3 hour time change back to east coast, I was really just wiped. All I could muster (in addition to my airport walking) was a stretch class.
Monday-rest day + core + stretch
I had an early service appointment at the house and a DEXA scan later in the day. By the time I got home, I was just wiped. A short core and stretch class was all I managed today. It’s okay-tomorrow is a new day! It was also a coffee filled day.

Tuesday-full body strength + stretch class + core
I had my fall AC/heating service call today which always seems to take forever. Nonetheless, I got in my full body strength and core classes. Later, I had a nice long stretch class. I was still tired today!

Wednesday-weighted vest walk + core + stretch
It was another beautiful fall morning for a power walk. Later, I had a much needed deep tissue massage.

Thursday-full body strength + core + tread walk
I was ready to lift heavy again today and it felt good. Nothing too exciting about this day although I did a hair cut and color which always feels good.
Friday-Tread incline hiking class + core + stretch
I opted for an incline Peloton tread class today and stacked 3 differing types of classes. The challenge of the incline is a great cardio burn. My favorite longevity guru Doc Peter Attia (whom I have mentioned before) has a number of strength metrics to aim to uphold to promote longevity. My favorite is the farmer carry where he states that women over 40 should be able to carry at least 75% of their weight for one minute. The heaviest kettlebells I have at home allow me to do 100 pounds. More on this later…

Later that afternoon, I met up with some friends for a Mah Jong lesson. I’ve been terrible about taking photos lately!
Saturday-morning walk
my husband and I went on a nice morning power walk on a gorgeous day. I’m starting my birthday celebration a week early with dinner out with a few friends.

Happy birthday week! I hope it’s a great one!
Me too thanks!
We do farmers carries at CF quite a bit! I did not know that statistic but it sounds pretty accurate.
What will you and the hubs be doing to celebrate your BDs?
Love the farmer’s carry!
He is turning 60 and we had a giant party for him a few weeks ago! It’s my niece’s bat mitzvah next weekend so I celebrated with my friends last night. I have a few more small celebrations this week
Yay for starting to celebrate your birthday early!
You know I love Peter Attia and have changed up some things in my workouts since starting to listen to his podcasts. I tried to incorporate farmers carries back into my routine several months ago when one of the other bloggers mentioned them (I had sort of forgotten about them). I got up to 15 pounds in each hand, but noticed I started getting a numb right foot later in the day so I cut them out and the numbness went away. Maybe it was something else? I wasn’t running which could be the other culprit for causing the numbness…
Hmm that is interesting about the numbness in your foot! Worth trying again?
Happy Birthday week! I love birthdays, and think they should be celebrated as much as possible.
I’m going to check out Peter Attia. I’ve heard of his book but not read it or listened to his podcast.
I love all the fall colors! We don’t get that down here so I’m just living vicariously through you guys.
Oh I think you would really like his podcasts and IG reels
That’s interesting about the farmer’s carries! I feel like I do that every week after my grocery run, LOL. Here’s to a fabulous week of birthday fun!!
I think the time change made everyone extra sleepy this week. I didn’t really notice it until Wednesday or Thursday.
Hope this month is wonderful!
I was definitely off this week!
I’m a big fan of Peter Attia too! He’s absolutely right about the heavy carries.
It always makes me laugh how many negative comments he gets online, probably because he doesn’t sugarcoat things and people take it personally.
I’ve been meaning to try that carry test myself , I’ll give it a go at CrossFit tomorrow!
people do not want to hear what they don’t want to hear!! I’m definitely betting you being able to carry it no prob
Birthday week, woohoo! I just looked up Outlive, and it’s a 17 hour audio book. I’m intrigued, so I got in the wait list for it from the library. Looks like you have beautiful fall colors in your area!
I think you will enjoy it. I have the hard copy book so I can mark things and go back and reread easier
Happy early birthday… can’t wait to hear what you have planned.
Thanks!
Oh, I’d love to hear more about the DEXA Scan. I have been thinking about getting one done sometime.
Also, that’s an interesting metric that women over 40 should be able to carry 75% of their weight for a minute. I need to see what weights are available at my gym room.
November sounds like a month with many celebrations! How fun.
I personally think it’s really important to get a DEXA scan in your 50’s instead of the recommended 65 so that you can identify any areas of concern at a younger age
Happy birthday week! We have a boiler check the week after next and the man always takes aaaages (and I really don’t like him, but my husband dislikes the sarcastic man who used to do it more, so …).
Yes they do take a long time!
