Heart And Sole Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. Every February I truly do fall in love with all things running. The holiday madness is over, I am back on schedule and feeling like I am gaining my running endurance back. February is usually one of my best months for running and hopefully this year will be the same. Heart and Sole is my theme this week with a few Peloton milestones thrown in.

Heart and sole Weekly Run Down

Sunday- For The Love 10K run + stretch + foam roll

My only goals today were to finish my race with a smile on my face. Mission accomplished! I am so very grateful to be back out there doing what I love with the people I love. I stuck with my 4:1 intervals and felt really good the whole time. Putting my heart and sole into this one.

Heart and sole

Monday-Peloton walk + upper and lower body strength + core + stretch

I was feeling surprisingly better than expected this morning! Still wanting to give myself some rest after yesterday’s race, I chose a Peloton walk and more advanced upper body class. I hit 2000 strength classes! Good start to the week.

Weekly run down

Tuesday- 4 mile run + stretch + core + Pilates

A slow and steady recovery run with the crew this morning. I am continuing to feel good and kept is low intensity. It was a crisp sunny morning. Today, I hit 1900 stretch classes!

Weekly run down

Wednesday-Peloton walk + lower body & upper body strength + core + Peloton cycle + stretch

It was a full Peloton workout day over here. Just the way I like it with a little bit of everything.

Thursday-4.5 mile run + stretching classes + barre + Pilates

Today’s group run was high on endorphins. One of these runs where we seemed to come up with all these great metaphorical ideas about life and running. I mean we were on fire! 🔥 Five minutes later walking into the door, nothing in my brain. Ha! We will need a do over so I can take notes on my phone.

Weekly run down

Friday-3 mile walk + lower body strength + core + pilates

It was a gorgeous day in the 60’s! I headed out for an outdoor walk then lower body strength, etc. Later, I had lunch with my son (a treat!) and an afternoon session in the infrared sauna with a massage. It was a self care kind of day.

Weekly run down

Saturday-Rest day

I could not pass up the warm weather and went for a walk before meeting a friend for lunch. Peloton stretch before bed.

And that’s a wrap on my week! We were gifted with a fabulous weather week for mid February.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Yay on getting your running groove back! Love seeing your smile on the course!

Woohoo on those Peloton milestones. You are so far ahead of me with the stretching! I’ve been doing it every day, but probably should do some in the evening too.

It’s great to see you enjoying running again! I have to laugh about you forgetting all those great ideas that you had on the run. I often compose blog posts or stories in my head when I’m running and yep, all gone as soon as I take off my shoes!

It is funny how we get such great ideas out there when we are in the zone. Yes, I am feeling a lot better out there and hope it continues thanks

The weather was fabulous this past week! I had a busy week, but still tried to get out and enjoy it.

It’s great that you could meet your son for lunch. We’re meeting out NC son and d-i-l today in Charlottesville for lunch and to pick up Pablo for a couple of weeks. 🙂

Hooray on a smiling race. The best.

Yup I write my posts when I run and then forget. lol.

The warm temps were great yesterday but winter is returning.

I’m so happy to see you back and running! IT gives me hope that I’ll be back there soon. We had warm weather this week too, which was great for getting out and walking (while I stay off running) but we’re back to wintry this week again. It’s funny about thinking of stuff when running and then forgetting – I actually keep a blank doc on my phone where I write things when I’m running and think of things. IT doesn’t always work but sometimes it is helpful!

I have definitely stopped to make notes on my phone as well bc I feel like I get such great ideas while in the zone
