Thanks for joining the weekly run down with me and Kim. This week we had our first real snow in about 2 years twice and I had SNOW much fun enjoying it for a few days. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness.
Weekly Run Down
Sunday- 6 mile run + stretch
It was so windy this morning! I completely overdressed and ditched my jacket pretty quickly. The wind is so deceiving. I am still plugging along with walk run intervals and trying to get stronger with this distance. Just as we finished our run, we had a burst of snow flurries.
Monday-Peloton walk + Pilates + upper & lower body strength + foam roll
We woke up to our first official snow fall in a long while. Looks like we will get about 2-3 inches which for the DC area is a lot lol. I am just hoping I have enough snow for a pretty run tomorrow without ice to kill myself out there. I am finishing week 4 of my Glutes and legs program with Adrian. Building that booty!
I meal prepped some of my favorite High Protein Cinnamon vanilla waffles and made a yummy batch of Eggplant Parm for dinner.
Tuesday- Snow shoe hike + core + stretch
We woke up to a lot more snow than we expected. We got a good 4-5 inches which has not happened in a few years. Of course, I took this as an opportunity to use all the winter gear. I pulled out my snow shoes that had been gathering dust in my garage. Why yes I did test out all my new ski wear as well and had a good time playing in the snow, snow shoeing, and taking run photos.
Wednesday- Peloton walk + upper & lower body strength + core + stretch
I finished up week 4 of Adrian’s Glutes & Legs program and have to say I see results. Not only do my glutes feel stronger but my core does too. Hmm what to do next!? I took a quick run through the untouched snow just for fun (and IG photos of course!) I am itching for a real run so I need to find a safe spot for tomorrow.
Thursday-3.5 mile run + stretch + bike warm up
It was a balmy 12 degrees this morning. I was determined to run and scouted out some streets that were cleared with a bike lane. After a short bike warm up, I headed out with a few of the squad to tackle the hood. Once e got going, it had warmed up to the mid 20’s and was very doable for a short run.
Friday- Peloton tread walk + full body strength + bare + foam roll
We were gifted with our second snow storm of the week and got another 3 or inches. Of course, I took full advantage of the snow pics having snow much fun again. My husband really thinks I am nuts!
On another note, If you have never foam rolled under your arm and down your side, it’s oh so special. I have taken this Peloton class twice and realized how much I needed it there.
Saturday- rest day
Official rest day for me that will include stretching and foam rollling. It is too icy and cold for an outdoor walk today.
As you can see, I had snow much fun this week taking advantage of the white stuff. I am now done and would life my running trail back LOL.

I’m so glad you’re enjoying your snow! We’re up in Wisco and they have about 2 feet of snow on the ground! So no trail running, sadly. I do need to get some miles in before we head home, so I’ll head out in a little while when it ‘warms’ up.
I need to try that side roll!
Deborah Brooks says
Wow that is a lot of snow. I bet it’s pretty though!
Debbie says
We missed Monday’s snow, but were home for Friday’s. And yes, I agree, I’ve had my snow fix and now I’m ready for dry pavement. BTW, I love you new ski jacket!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks I loved my new ski gear but I am now over it! LOL
Melissa says
nice job this week! love your snowy pics. ha, I feel the same way – ok snow you can leave now so my workouts can go back to normal!
Deborah Brooks says
exactly-had my snow pics and now I am ready to go back to regular winter 🙂
Darlene S. Cardillo says
Not a fan of snow since I give snowshoe or ski.
It puts a wrench in my outdoor running.
Hey it’s winter so I’ll figure it out.
Glad to see you’re enjoying it.
Deborah Brooks says
I had fun for a week and I am now ready to return to regular winter
Susanne says
Eeeek, so much snow!! Well done going out running! It’s great that you’ve been enjoying the snow. So many people love snow! I find that interesting, considering how inconvenient it is, lol. I totally get you with getting your running trails back!
Your leg and glute strength program sounds great! For some reason I find glute exercises so satisfying, perhaps because it’s so easy to isolate those muscles during the workout.
Deborah Brooks says
I am loving the glutes program and really feel like I gained a lot from doing it. Now to figure out what to do next
Coco says
You really did get out to enjoy the snow! I had more fun watching Scooby from my kitchen window. 😉
Your snow gear is so cute!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks I had fun pulling it all out. I am now over it and ready to return to regularly scheduled winter lol
Chocolaterunsjudy says
Glad you enjoyed playing in the snow (you can have ALL of ours, LOL!). Grass is always greener & all that. I think I was kind of lucky it was too cold to walk Bandit this week — although I still get a lot of steps just doing the normal stuff at home.
Sounds like your year is off to a great start!
Deborah Brooks says
I had fun with it for a week and I am now ready to get it out of here so I can have my trails back
Marcia says
How fun to get some snow! Glad you are enjoying it! I keep wanting snowshoes but I haven’t gotten them yet. They would’ve been fun this year.
Deborah Brooks says
I’ve had them for years and used them maybe 3 times. I had fun this week but now over all the snow!
Melodie Baker says
You are braver than me getting out in the snow! It is weeks like this that make me appreciate my treadmill even more! Although, I think I would enjoy snow shoeing. I am ready for spring! I may try that Chest & Back foam rolling class today! Thanks for sharing it!
I attempted to link up today, hopefully I did it right!
Deborah Brooks says
yes it worked and great to have you. Stay warm
Kimberly Hatting says
You’re definitely enjoying your snow much more than I am! If we didn’t get such extreme weather, I know I’d like it much better. Your snow pics do look so fun, though 😉 I’m gonna cue-up that foam rolling class for later…I’m so sore, everywhere, that may be a good place to start.
Deborah Brooks says
I really had fun with it for a few days and I am now ready to have my trails back and normal winter. Let me what you think of the class. Sounds like you could use a good stretch!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
I love all of your pictures – you are too cute in the snow! It sounds like your snow was worse than ours in Philly. We got a few inches but thankfully it wasn’t too bad but I can’t wait for the temperatures to warm up again because it’s like we’ve been cooped up! Great job with your workouts! I love the foam rolling workouts on Peloton and I think I remember that class you’re talking about, phew!
Deborah Brooks says
We did get more than you all this week. It was fun for a few days and I am now over it LOL
Jessie says
Love the snow pics! Got to embrace it. Its similar to London where it doesn’t happen very often so everyone is out there getting that content 🙂
Glad you were able to get out for a few runs and all is feeling good!
Deborah Brooks says
Gotta get those snowy pics 🙂
Michelle says
Glad you’re enjoying the snow. We got more here this week along with some icy conditions and I have to say that I’m officially over winter…unfortunately, I think Mother Nature has other plans LOL
Deborah Brooks says
I had a lot of fun with it this week and I am now officially over it! LOL We are due for a warm up this week hope you are too
Jenny says
Wow, it sounds like everyone is getting the winter weather! It sounds like the DC area gets the perfect amount of snow- once or twice a year which is fun, but not constantly (not fun.) It looks like you really did have fun with it! I hope you get your running trail back soon!
Deborah Brooks says
ha yes exactly. It was really fun for a few days but very cold!
Jenn says
I love your mini photo shoots! You’re so cute! And that ski outift is fabulous! I’jm sure you can’t wait to hit the slopes!
Deborah Brooks says
I had so much fun with all the photos. My husband was working at home most of the week and I am sure you can imagine the look on his face watching me out the window. LOL
San says
Oh my goodness, look at all that snow! I am glad to hear you are prepared with all the gear (even if you didn’t have to use it in a while). Love your skiing pants. So fun.
Also, High Protein Cinnamon vanilla waffles sound amazing. Is there a recipe on your blog? Is it the same as the coffee cake waffles?
Deborah Brooks says
Yes I did have fun with the all the snow and the outfits LOL The waffles are the same minus the coffee. I didn’t have the instant so I left that out. They are yummy
Black Knight says
I’m glad you are enjoying the snow and the white landscape.
Here we seldom get the snow but the northern winds rules.
Deborah Brooks says
It was nice for a few days!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Ahhh, loving the snow pics!! I am looking forward to many snowy days ahead this winter. It makes everything look so pretty.
