As you read this Globetrotting Runfessions post, I am most likely somewhere on my 11-hour flight over the Atlantic or Europe about to touchdown in Amman, Jordan for the first leg of our epic summer journey. Tomorrow, we are headed to the ancient city of Petra to tour the ruins. Stay tuned for updates in the Weekly Run Down Sunday. Thanks to Marcia for hosting today.
Globetrotting Runfessions
I Runfess…
I love traveling and sightseeing but am not a fan of the actual flights and logistics to get there. Ha, I know! I get a little nervous flying especially if there is turbulence. I am also a huge over-packer but, what can I say, I like options. I, of course, have to pack tons of running clothes and regular people clothes. The struggle is real.
I Runfess…
About running…I am a little nervous about keeping up my runs while traveling as we have jam-packed days planned. I am excited about a run tour I have booked towards the end of our trip. I will keep the location a secret until I get there. I’ve also looked into hooking up with one of the Moms Run This Town groups over here for a run. I am hoping I can work that out as it’s always fun to make some international running friends.
I Runfess…
I cannot remember the last time I ran on a treadmill. It’s over 100 every day here and I see some treadmill runs in my future, I wonder how that will go.
I am looking forward to sharing my globetrotting adventures with you all!
Have so much fun on your travels. The issue with that part of the world is it’s not only very hot but very humid as well. I spent considerable time on the treadmill when we were in the UAE. I remember having to do laundry too, as we were gone over 3 weeks.
yes, I do see some treadmills runs in my future for sure! It is crazy hot
I can’t wait to hear all about it — running and not running!
thanks so much I am excited
I LOVED Petra. Can’t wait to see all of your photos.
When we went we did the long haul to Tel Aviv and then did a domestic flight to Eilat because we couldn’t make it work to fly out of Amman.
Cannot wait to follow this trip. Be safe heat wise and have an amazing time
We hit Petra today should be loads of fun. Tel Aviv is sometime next week I have lost track of time already 🙂
I am laughing so hard. We were almost in Israel simultaneously until the friend we were going to visit came here instead. Would be fun to meet in a 2nd country/3rd city though! Enjoy and stay cool-ish. Mint lemonade is 100% worth the sugar to refresh
ha yes that would have been funny!
Oh, that’s exciting, Deborah!!
I didn’t know that Moms Run This Town is international. I hope you can hook up with someone local, that would be so much fun!
Yes they are international! You should check to see if there are any in Switzerland!
Enjoy your trip! Don’t stress about the runs. It’s supposed to be fun, right?
I’m not a nervous flyer — then again it’s been over 3 years since I flew anywhere & things have changed a lot — but long flights aren’t a lot of fun.
Just keep thinking about all the fun you’ll have once you get to your destinations! Enjoy!
thanks! The flight was not too bad! Today we are off to our first adventure in Petra
I can’t wait to hear all about your adventures abroad! I’m an over-packer, too, because #options 😉 Have fun and enjoy your away time!!
I also need to have options you never know right
How exciting! Looking forward to hearing about your adventure – Enjoy!
thanks stay tuned for lots of photos
I hate treadmills. I keep trying to convince everyone in my club that they are evil and should be unplugged, but yeah, there are reasons……I remember being on shelter island in San Diego, pouring rain, I lasted about 5 minutes on a treadmill looking outside and then, well, ya gotta run!
sometimes you just have to hit the mill!
How exciting!!! Yes, share your adventures. I’ll live vicariously- at this point I’m not sure if I’ll be going anywhere this summer.
Hope you had a good (no turbulence) flight!
The flight was not bad! Stay tuned for lots of photos
