Happy Workout Wednesday! If you have been a reader for a while, you have probably noticed that I enjoy mixing up my strength workouts. I get bored if I do the same thing over and over again. Yesterday, it was just too nice outside to be stuck in the gym doing strength training. I opted to grab my 2 resistance bands and head outside for some sunshine and sweat. I came up with this do anywhere, full body resistance band workout.

All you need for this Full Body Resistance Band Workout is a figure 8 band and a long resistance band with 2 handles. Both come in all different resistance strengths to fit your needs. (Amazon affiliate) You can really do just about anything with these little bands!

I’ve never seen a figure 8 band like that before! I have a regular resistance band with handles that I use for some of the exercises you listed. Looks like a great workout!

I love a resistance band workout. I don’t have dumbbells at home, so there you go. Plus, it is such a different type of resistance.

Confession. Once upon a time I look down on resistance band workouts. It wasn’t them. It was me 🙂 I had gotten all caught up in the iron game 🙂 and somehow thought it wasn’t a real workout… Until a friend came over with her bands and kicked my booty. Love this. Need this.

Such a great post! I don’t have any specific workouts, but I travel at least once a month, and I always through my resistance bands in my bag in case the location or weather don’t allow for any other type of activity. I just kind of wing it in my hotel room!

Years ago (like in 2001), I bought a kit called Gym on the Go…it came with a video and a set of resistance bands…and I was hooked. I was intimidated by the gym scene and had no clue how to use hand weights (let alone a barbell..YIKES!), but the bands were amazing. Now days, I do more free weight-based strength training, but I do dig out the bands now and then. Thanks for sharing all of these moves…looks like a solid routine!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/13/2017 at 2:02 pm

I do more free weights also but it’s fun to mix it up sometimes. The bands can be a really hard workout!

  17. Sarah says

    04/12/2017 at 8:19 pm

I remember the first time I used resistance bands, it isn’t as easy as it seems, especially with the right band. Looks like a great workout!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/13/2017 at 2:02 pm

Yes exactly! You can really kick it up a notch

  18. Chrissy says

    04/12/2017 at 9:39 pm

I get bored easily too and need to change things up often. Resistance bands are great workouts. They challenge your muscles in such a different way than regular hand weights. Great workout.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/13/2017 at 2:02 pm

I totally agree and thanks so much!

I use mine for added resistance when I do my hip strength exercises i.e. Clamshells, leg lifts, donkey kicks. They are a great addition to your home workout equipment.
