Thanks for joining Coco and me for the November 2022 Coffee Date today. I do look forward to these catch up posts and hope you do too. It’s been a week of football, baseball, and basketball oh my! Grab your mugs and let’s get right to it.
November 2022 Ultimate Coffee Date
If were having coffee, I would tell you…
Hi, my name is Deborah and I have an activewear obsession. I admit I have a ridiculous amount of leggings. There are capris, full-length tights, and fleece-lined tights. I have tried to organize them many times and nothing seems to work. I have tried to “Marie Kondo” them but alas, they all bring me joy. Seriously, I tried rolling them up in that style and it’s too hard to maintain. I really couldn’t see them. This is more of a runfession…don’t judge LOL.
I have ordered many different organizational items from amazon. Finally, I think I have found something that works. I have divided these crates into one for capris, one for long tights, and one for fleece/winter tights. Oh, and one for strength/Peloton workouts. Crossing my fingers this one is going to work.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…
It’s been a crazy few weeks for Philadelphia sports fans. Since my husband is from Philly, I am a Philly sports fan by marriage. With the Phillies surprisingly making it into the World Series, last weekend was crazy. In fact, our entire week has revolved around Philly sports. I settled in to watch game 1 Friday night which went on way past 1 am! Saturday night brought yet another game and all night game.
Oh, and the Philadelphia Eagles are the only undefeated football team right now. My boys drove up to the game Sunday without me. I am what you call a sports widow. Monday night, we went to a Washington Wizards game in DC where you guessed it, they were playing the Philadelphia 76ers. I do actually enjoy going to sporting events in person. The Sixers won.
Tuesday, my boys were back up in Philadelphia for Game 4 of the World Series. Yes, I am a sports widow again. Last night, the Eagles were playing at the same time as Game 5 of the World Series. What’s a super fan to do? Well, we are streaming one game while watching the other one. It’s a great time to be a Philadelphia sports fan!
If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
Deb says
I would tell you how absolutely pumped I was when the Nats won the World Series a few years ago and remember how exhausted I was staying up to watch the late games and then getting up for early clients. Enjoy!
Deborah Brooks says
yes, it’s kind of crazy around here!
Marcia says
I Marie Kondo’d my tops (except for 1/2 zips which hang) years ago and I have 3 drawers full and yes because of the depth, I can’t see all that I have. My tights were all hanging until that didn’t work anymore. Now I’ve got some hanging and some folded stacks. It is ridiculous and I need to keep culling the herd so to speak. How fun to be in the sports whirlwind! We do not have that problem here in Chicago. Haha!
Deborah Brooks says
I knew you would feel me on the masses of exercise clothes! It is hard to find a way to keep track of them
Wendy says
I too have a ridiculous amount of leggings but even worse are my tops! I did a purge a few years ago and was able to sell many of my INB tops on ebay. With INB going out of business, the interest in those items has dwindled. I need to do another purge, tho!
Enjoy those sporting events! It’s not a good time to be a Chicago fan, but is it ever?
Deborah Brooks says
LOL on the Chicago sports! I still need to do the tops and I am too overwhelmed to start
Coco says
Oh, I like your organization idea. I have a drawer full of leggings and try to organize them in rows, but always spend too much time trying to find what I’m looking for. I was looking for something in another closet this week when I was faced with all the tops I used to wear to Cyclebar. I just don’t bother with tops working out in my basement. 😉
Philadelphia is having a good run in sports!
Deborah Brooks says
The struggle is real with the workout clothes!Philly is having a fun few weeks
Darlene Cardillo says
The struggle is real… I have too much of everything. I’ve rolled my tops and skirts and organized them in big drawers by color… I have to work on the lights and capris… they take up more room.
I’m a mets fan but since they blew it, I’ll root for the Phillies.
Enjoy the next few weeks!
Deborah Brooks says
I know so much activewear! I have to dive into the tops and figure out how to store them. Thanks we will take your votes for Philly!
Jenny says
I think Marie Kondo would say if they all bring you joy, you should keep them all! it looks like you have a good way of organizing them, so why not? I know you wear them- I’m always noticing your cool leggings in the blog photos.
Yes, I’ve been watching some of the World Series but since I don’t have a strong feeling about either team, I’m rooting for the Astros (since my son is in Texas right now.) But if the Phillies win and that makes you happy, I’m happy!
Deborah Brooks says
My activewear does bring me joy! I do have to find a better way to store everything. I am moving onto the tops
Michelle says
I have yet to find a system to manage all the run/workout clothes – if your system works, please share what you purchased…the struggle is real LOL!
Enjoy that Philly sports streak!
Deborah Brooks says
The struggle is real! So far, I am liking the leggings in the crates. I need to take on the tops
Jenn says
I love the idea of leggings but I don’t wear them often because it’s so hot.
I used to watch sports a lot more, but I’ve become super disenchanted with the athletes and the culture, so now it’s much less.
Deborah Brooks says
I can see how you would not wear long tights very often there.
Kimberly Hatting says
Yay for all the Philly fun! I Philly-fess that the Eagles have always been a favorite team for me (as a kid, I chose them as my “team” based on their colors, LOL). My legging stash is a little out of control as well….
Deborah Brooks says
It is amazing how many pairs we can amass
Erica @ Erica Finds says
I am also an activewear addict but… that’s a ton of leggings and a ton of sports. I’d stick with activewear personally 😉
I didn’t buy anything at the marathon today so I was proud of myself 😉
Deborah Brooks says
That is quite an accomplishment! 🙂
Chocolaterunsjudy says
Totally unaware of the World Series or Football — I’m sure my husband is aware, but obviously he is not a sports fan & never really even talks about it.
I like having time to myself though!
Deborah Brooks says
We have always been a sports family but this week has been rather crazy!
Kim G says
I also have an activewear obsession, lol. But I am proud of myself because I’ve only purchased one workout tank this year. I have one drawer of shirts, one drawer of sports bras and 2 drawers of leggings/shorts/capris, so I really don’t need any more items lol.
Deborah Brooks says
LOL it happens fast! I was surprised by how many I actually had when I went through them
Farrah says
Ooo, I also have way too many leggings/workout clothes in general and haven’t found a nice way to store them yet but I may borrow your idea — I like the way you organized yours!
I used to be a Philly sports fan by association due to the person I was dating at the time — I don’t watch it much anymore but I’m sure he’s absolutely thrilled right now! 😛
Deborah Brooks says
It is still a fun time to be a PHilly fan!
Cari says
LOL. Sports widow. Those Eagles colors might be your only failing 😀
Glad they were able to go to the World Series. Something about post season baseball.
Among the many reasons I never got a weekly run down up was I was at the Giants game Sunday.
I swear clothes multiply like bunnies
Deborah Brooks says
Ha yes my athletic clothes have gotten to the ridiculous point while I feel like I have no normal people clothes that I like
