It is no secret that I really do not love summer running. But, with the right gear, it is so much more pleasant. Here are my favorite summer 2024 running gear must haves that help to make summer running more fun.

These light and breezy tanks sell out fast for a reason. I love the higher neckline with a flattering halter tank cut.
Brooks Ghost 16 and Glycerin 21
Right now I am alternating between the new Ghost 16’s and the Glycerin 21’s (pictured above). Both are cushioned and ready to go right out of the box. The Glycerin have a springy feel with a wider toe box. The Ghost 16 offer a cushioned, familiar feel for longer easy runs I’m fun new colors.
While I do not run with headphones when with my group, I am enjoying these Shocks Open fit for walks and hikes. They are so comfortable I forget I have them on. Highly recommend!
Supergoop tinted sunscreen and lip balm with SPF
Sunscreen is a must for me all year round. My favorite is Supergoop tinted Glow Screen. It is available in multiple shades and also untinted. But, who doesn’t appreciate a little extra glow? See all my sunscreen tips and picks in this post.
Orange Mud Hydration Pack
This Orange Mud Hydroquiver has been my go to hydration pack for the past 4 years now. I love the easy hands free, easy carry backpack style of this pack. It’s very light and carries a 22 oz bottle. Also available in a 2 bottle style.
Hydrant electrolyte mix and SIS hydration tablets
Hydration is key for me in the summer heat and humidity. My current go to hydration options are these and these which I add right into my hydration pack above. My picks have little or no sugar just electrolytes.
Knockaround sunglasses
It’s definitely cooler when you sunglasses 😎 match your outfit. These Knockaround shades are an inexpensive way to color coordinate.

That’s my favorite tank too, and I’ve also been wearing the Ghosts and Glycerins alot. I love my Knockaround sunglasses! I remember when I got them I wasn’t worried about them breaking because they are inexpensive, but years later they still haven’t broken!

These all are great items! I ran in the Glyceyins last week at a demo run, but also have a pair from a few years ago that still feel oh-so-comfy. As you know, I love my Knockaround shades! I’ve lost count of how many I have, but can you ever have too many? (I think not)

I haven’t tried the Ghost 16s yet but I’m contemplating trying them out. I love my Shokz OpenFit. They are my favorite headphones (and I’ve tried a lot!).

You’re right about that tank top- it looks like they’re all sold out of smalls and mediums, except in the black (I refuse to wear a black shirt in the summer heat.) Hopefully they’ll restock soon because they do look comfy!
The orange mud hydration vest is my old favorite, and I got the idea from your blog. I did switch to a different style of vest for super long races, but I’m going to get out the orange mud again this summer. It really is super comfortable (the single bottle- I also have the double one and don’t like it as much) and easy to use.
I am hoping they restock the tank! I still love the orange mud pack as well. I used the double for a long hike but use the single for runs

Do you find OpenFit are annoying iwth your sunglasses or non issue? My regular Shokz are near t he end of their life and debating which models to consider
No they don’t interfere with my sunglasses at all I love them!
