It is that time again! The last Friday of September and the perfect time to share a few Runfessions. I am always ready to get a few things off of my chest. I am running just as fast as I can into fall weather and fall runfessions. Thanks to Marcia for hosting. So, let’s get right to it.
I Runfess…
I had some serious doubts as to whether my 2 fall races would actually happen in person. After seeing so many races go virtual again in the last 2 weeks, I was kind of concerned. But, here we are a week away from my Wine Glass Half! Looking at their Facebook page, it seems many people opted for the virtual option again. I could not be more excited to get up there and run it in person. A smaller race sounds good to me! It has been so long since I’ve run a half. I am now tempted to sign up for all the races in 2022.
I Runfess…
When I planned to go visit my daughter in Chicago in November, I may have spontaneously signed up to run the Hot Chocolate 15K the same weekend. I mean, what kind of runner would I be if I let a race go on just a few blocks from where I was staying without toeing the start line? I hear it’s a really fun race to do. My last race in Chicago was our blogger meetup 3.5 years ago! That race happened in the pouring rain so I need some redemption. Hope it’s not snowing by then! Anyway, let me know if you are going to be running it or if you are up for meeting me that weekend.
That’s about all I’ve got today for my Fall Runfessions. Any signs of fall by you? Ever spontaneously register for a race when you are traveling?

I had hoped to be back to running by the time Hot Chocolate rolls around but it looks like that won’t be happening! It would be fun to meet up! I think it’s the first weekend in November. Let me know if you can squeeze me in!
Deborah Brooks says
yes it’s a date we will make it happen
Kimberly Hatting says
Shoot….I would love to run an in-person Hot Chocolate, and Chicago is the closest one. I have a half the day prior, though. Bummer!!!! Best of luck with your half next weekend 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
It was spur of the moment! I am looking at that Brooklyn half in April though

My travel used to revolve around races, and only a very few were relatively spontaneous. I’m not sure my Sherpa will be up to his normal duties whenever I actually do run a half again.
There could definitely be snow in November! You just never know! But then hot chocolate would taste great, right?
Deborah Brooks says
yes, hot chocolate at the finish will be a nice treat
Marcia says
If I recall HC Chi as been pretty frigid in years past. It’s anybody’s guess what this year will bring. I’ll make sure I clear the dates so I can see you!
Deborah Brooks says
I would love that!!
Jenny says
Oh yes, your 4th favorite season has ended- you must be happy. I can see why you’re signing up for all the races!
Good luck on your half- looking forward to hearing all about it.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes ha ha I get inspired when the temps drop
Black Knight says
Sometimes the races few blocks from where we stay are not so good. For instance I don’t like to race in my city because, I don’t know why, the routes always run on 4/5 laps even if we have big spaces to run through.
Good luck on your half and I hope that next year you can sign up for many races.
Deborah Brooks says
I hope we both get to run lots of races next year!
Darlene S Cardillo says
I loved the one hot chocolate race I ran.
You know me…I’m all about the races. I rarely go anywhere without checking to see if there’s a race.
Yes on racing and now it seems safer when they are small. Fingers crossed that mine is happening Oct 3.
Deborah Brooks says
fingers crossed for both of us next weekend!
Coco says
Yeah on all those live races! November is Chicago could be brisk! Bring on the hot chocolate!
Deborah Brooks says
will run for chocolate!
Zenaida Arroyo says
Fun that you will be in Chicago and planning to run a race! I won’t run it but would love to see you.
Deborah Brooks says
Will let you know when I know my plans!
