You all know that I love to workout while traveling. While I like to take advantage of getting out and exploring the surroundings as much as possible, I also like to prepare some workouts to keep me on track. Knowing I can get a full body workout with my Resistance Band, they are always in my travel bag.
I came up with this Do anywhere resistance band workout to take with me but it’s perfect to do anywhere, anytime. Resistance bands add resistance your exercises the same way weights would, assisting you in strengthening your muscles and getting a killer workout. They are portable, inexpensive and come in a variety of resistance levels.
Do Anywhere Resistance Band Workout
Warm up:
Steps outs: With a figure 8 resistance band on each ankle, step out the side while transferring your weight with you. Knees stay slightly bent. Punch out your hands forward with or without a light weight. No weights no problem-use a water bottle in each hand. Repeat 15x on each side.
Butt kicks: Keep the resistance band on your ankles and alternate kicking your heels back towards your rear end. Repeat 15x on each side.
Upper Body:
Triceps kickbacks: with long resistance band, in a staggered stance with one foot on top of the band. Engage your triceps and pull your arms back. Keep arms engaged on forward and backward movement. Repeat 12x
Bicep curls:
Step one or two feet onto your resistance band and alternate bicep curls. Control the upward and downward motion to keep arms engaged the entire movement. Repeat 15x on each side.
Rows:
Stand on your resistance band and row both arms back in a slow and controlled motion while in a half squat. Repeat 15x.
Lower Body
Glute bridges: A staple in any lower body workout, the glute bridge gets an extra challenge by adding your resistance band. Repeat 15x.
Squats:
Your squats get an extra challenge by adding your resistance band repeat 15x
Repeat entire circuit and finish up with your favorite ab moves for a quick and efficient Do Anywhere Resistance Band workout. Entire set should take about 30 minutes to complete. Of course the possibilities are endless with resistance bands and these are a few of my favorites.

This looks like a great full body workout to do while traveling that could happen in a hotel room without making too much noise to wake people up.
My favorite move to do with a resistance band is one I did yesterday. It was a lap pull down that really hurt by the end.
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks lay pull downs are great too when you can find something high to secure your band with

It’s amazing what a great workout you can get out of resistance bands. My favorite (?) are with the bands around my ankle–side steps and monster walks. Hurt so good!

Those are good ones! Can be a super hard full body workout

Awesome. This is great, especially if you’re a traveler. I have bands at home, but they’re collecting a bit of dust since I joined a gym earlier this year.

Resistance bands were my first form of strength training…many years ago…when I was afraid of hand weights and kettle bells. Then, I was introduced to P90X, and a lot of the exercise moves had variations I did with the bands, so the love continued 😉
Deborah Brooks says
They are great and so versatile!

Generally when I travel I’m going for a race, so I’m resting (or hiking) before and definitely not worrying about the ST.
I do love resistance bands, but I also find that bodyweight works pretty good and you always have that with you. 🙂 I actually believe I do better with weights most of the time, but bodyweight workouts can be TOUGH!
Deborah Brooks says
Body weight exercises are great and I think underestimated. I love to use my resistance bands for home workouts as well
