Fast Friday! Today I’m jumping in with a quick review of Peloton’s newest core program: Crush Your Core 2 with Emma Lovewell. I just finished the 4 week program which debuted in January 2022. Here are my quick impressions.
Crush Your Core 2
Peloton dropped a new 4 week core program in January 2022 as a collection of curated core classes with Emma Lovewell. This is a follow up to the original core program from 2019.
How does it work?
Crush Your Core 2 is a 4 week program designed to help you progress your core stability and strength. There are 4 weeks of classes consisting of 4-5 times a week. Class times are from 5 minutes to 20 minutes with most in the 5-10 minute range. You can find these classes in the “programs tab” of the Peloton app or bike screen. They are not listed in the “classes” tab at this time. In order to unlock the next class, just complete the classes in order each week.
What equipment do I need?
A few of the classes have light hand weights as an option. (2-5 pounds). Other than that, just a mat will do.
What is the structure?
Week 1: Foundation moves with lots of explanation 4 days with 4 classes.
Week 2: Oblique focused with 4 days and 4 classes.
Week 3: Stability moves paired with foundation moves 5 days with 5 classes.
Week 4: Putting it all together with 5 days of classes. Finishes with a 20 minute class.
Who are these classes good for?
Anyone! Specifically, if you are new to Peloton and want to get a feel for how the programs and classes work, crush your core is a good fit. If you are new to core work and want to learn some basic foundation moves, this is the perfect program for you. If you are looking to make core classes more consistent, a structured program like this one is helpful.
What is the difficulty level?
While the Crush Your Core 2 program classes are good for any level exerciser, most of the classes are at a beginner to advanced beginner level. More experienced Peloton users (or those already doing consistent core work) can pair them with other classes or double up on days with shorter classes.

Thanks for your review. I’m tempted to do it to reinforce fundamentals and really focus on my form.

I like the Core-2 more than the original program! It’s not super tough, but definitely has a better level of “challenge” to it.
Deborah Brooks says
yes and it is a nice way to get the fundamentals nailed down

I did Emma’s first program. This might be a good option to combine with my other core work. Thanks for the review!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes, it would be nice to add to your other core work. Let me know what you think

Peloton is a very good option for fitness and my son is interested. I have gone to look once again if there is an Italian version but I haven’t find anything.
Deborah Brooks says
oh interesting I figured you could do it from anywhere as I do the classes while traveling internationally

Well, I was taking the first when I thought I was taking the same as you, but just started the second and it seems quite similar to the first, but the biggest thing for me is that it kicked off a daily core routine for me, at least 10 minutes every day. I wish there was a class option every day for the program if you want it (doesn’t have to be required for everyone.) I don’t think its unhealthy to work your core every day, I have yet to take a class on the app that left my abs ‘sore,’ which doesn’t mean they aren’t effective, but rather than I am fine doing it every day. But since there were only 5 classes a week, I would either repeat the classes or just find different ones. All and all, I liked it and am doing the 2nd one now.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes, I agree it does get you on the habit of doing daily core. I also agree that is fine to do daily core. I usually do do them 5 days a week. I got a little bored doing the same instructor the whole time. I’d love to see a mix of instructors in a daily program
