Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. We wrapped up our trip to Croatia with a quicks stop in Venice. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and travel. Ciao Ciao Venice!
Ciao, Ciao Venice Weekly Run Down
Sunday- 30 min Peloton hike + core + upper body strength
I got in about an hour of cardio and strength before we went to explore Hvar, Croatia. Another quaint and picturesque town on the Adriatic Sea. Later, we also hit the jet skis for some fun in the sun and water. The sunsets seem to get prettier by the day as well.
Monday- 30 min Peloton hike + touring and playing in Zadar, Croatia
A short workout today because we wanted to get out and enjoy the scenery. Zadar is known for its “Sea Organ” which is an architectural sound art object. It’s an experiment musical instrument that plays music by way of the sa waves and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps. My photos of it did not do it justice as it’s really the audio that makes it a specatacular place to visit.
We toured the city, had some delicious pizza and gelato before heading back to enjoy the cool ocean water. This was our last day in Croatia and it did not disappoint.
Tuesday- 30 min Peloton walk + Full body strength + touring Venice
I got in a quick morning workout before heading out to take on Venice. We have been here before so did not feel the need to see everything. We did hit up most of the must see sights, had a gelato and called it a day. It was super hot and crowded!
Wednesday – barre class + touring Murano, Italy
A quick workout today before heading over to the island of Murano, Italy. Just a short water taxi ride from Venice, this town is famous for Murano glass making. We saw some spectacular craftsmanship and toured the little town. Most of my media is video so I will share this pic of last night in Venice.
Thursday – 30 min Peloton walk + upper body strength + fly home
I wanted to get in a quick workout before heading back to the airport by water taxi. Venice is gorgeous and unique but a little more challenging to get around with the canals. You have to take water taxis everywhere and they are not fast.
Friday- Peloton hike + full body strength + core
Well, it’s amazing how much you can get done when you awake at 4:30 am with jet lag. I did all of our laundry, worked out and went grocery shopping all before 11. Exercise is always my go to for dealing with jet lag. Nothing better than a god sweat sesh.
I also came home to find this super cute set from Quince. Loving the longer bra top and buttery soft high waisted leggings in this cute jade color. If your’e interested you can find them here which gives you an extra discount.
Saturday- Peloton walk + upper body strength and core
Trying to get back on track! Still having a little bit of jet lag which has me getting up a lot earlier than I’d like to. I am really anxious to get back to my run schedule but this week’s forecast has us hitting the triple digits through Wednesday with very high humidity. It might be more of an indoor workout week with the pool workouts coming back.
It was a fun, fast and quick trip Ciao Ciao Venice until next time!

It looks like you had an amazing trip to Croatia. That part of the world is just being discovered. I’m sure it was great not having to deal with big crowds. Thanks for sharing all your adventures! What’s next on the list?
Deborah Brooks says
Croatia was beautiful and not too crowded. Venice was insanely crowded! We have a few shorter trips late in the summer. Then, see you in Chicago
Darlene S. Cardillo says
What an amazing trip. Love your pix.
And how active you were and you kept up with those workouts.
Welcome home.
Deborah Brooks says
I definitely feel better when I get in at least some short workouts in while traveling. It was a whirlwind trip
Coco says
It’s sounds like a great trip! Love your pink dress!
The air is suffocating this morning. Definitely a good day for the pool.
Deborah Brooks says
Not looking forward to our temps first half of the week!
Melissa says
beautiful photos!! Croatia looks amazing. And it’s been years since I went to Venice but your post definitely brought back memories or Murano and Burano and the water taxi rides!
I do love how traveling back, the jet lag helps you get up early and back into the routine. it is one nice side effect.
Deborah Brooks says
It was a great trip and we packed a lot into a short time. Glad to be home now
Kimberly Hatting says
Your trips to such amazing places are wonderful! I wish I could fit into your suitcase:-) Awesome job getting in all those workouts while traveling! And, how about those 4:30AM’s!! That’s my world, LOL!
Deborah Brooks says
ha wish you could come along. I was pretty miserable getting up at 4:30 and hopefully can straighten out my sleep schedule
Jenny says
Well, I guess the good news is you can get up at 4:30 to get a run in before it gets too hot (making jetlag work for you…)!
This trip sounds incredible. I’ve been to Venice but not Croatia- I want to go! And I’m very intrigued by that “sea organ” That must have been very cool.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes Croatia was a special place to visit. I was so miserable waking up that early! I am hoping my sleep is back on schedule soon
Susanne says
Lovely photos! How nice that you got to visit Venice too. I can imagine it’s almost unbearable in July, both in terms of temperature and crowds. I’m not sure I’ll visit Venice again but if I do, I’ll go in November or similar, everyone talks about the particular atmosphere there in Oct-Nov.
Did you have a hotel gym to get those workouts done?I hope you get back to your normal sleep soon!
I love that jade colour!
Deborah Brooks says
It was super hot and crowded in Venice. I don’t know if I would go back again either. Next time I visit Italy, I’d love to go in the fall as well.
Debbie says
Welcome home from your amazing trip! And sadly, welcome back to the miserable heat and humidity. I think the first half of the week will be indoor workouts for me, too.
Deborah Brooks says
ugh I really just don’t do well in this heat. Good luck to you this week too
San says
Wow, what an amazing trip, Deb. First Croatia, and then a few days in Venice. I’ve been to the island of Murano. Your pictures captured everything so beautifully. I hope to get back there sometime. It must have been hard to leave this place, but best to get back into your routine again right away!
Deborah Brooks says
It was a fabulous trip and I’m very thankful to have had the opportunity to travel there and experience it
Shathiso says
Like Kim, I wish I could fit into your suitcase! Both Croatia and Italy (specifically, Venice) are on my bucket lists! And your beautiful photos just brought both of them to life for me!
Deborah Brooks says
They are both fabulous places to visit. I hope you get there someday too
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
