Thanks for joining Kim and me for the Weekly Run Down. Every spring Washingtonians eagerly await the arrival of our famed Cherry Blossom trees. And every year the crazy spring weather impacts their arrival and lifespan. This spring was no different as they burst out early last week. As I was traveling so much, I did not have a chance to get down there. I am on a mission chasing cherry blossoms to catch a glimpse up close before they disappear again. Did I do it?
Chasing Cherry Blossoms
Monday- upper body strength + core
Back home again after another weekend of travel. I may need a vacay from my vacays. 45 minutes of Peloton strength today plus lots of laundry. Like most of the east coast, we got blasted with a winter like few days.
Tuesday- 5 mile run + stretch
Chasing cherry blossoms! I found them and finally got in my cherry blossom run into DC. It was a very chilly morning for this time of the year which undoubtedly led to a less crowded tidal basin. Score! We caught them and got some great photos.
While I live about 6 miles away from DC, it is not that often that I take the time to run downtown. I am always glad when I do.
Wednesday- upper body strength + core + Peloton cycle + stretch
A serious body burn today thanks to my 3 Peloton boyfriends: Denis, Rad, and Daniel. Just the way I like it.
Thursday- 4 mile run
I was not feeling it today at all. We had a crazy weather day with ridiculous wind, high humidity, and thunderstorms. We had a 40-degree temperature change from Tuesday! I got out for a short run. 4 miles felt hard today and I am kind of worried about 10 miles on Sunday! Hopefully, I just had an off day. Nothing like a 40 degree temperature swing!
Friday-upper body + core + lower body Peloton classes
I kept my workouts a little less intense today with my Cherry Blossom race coming up on Sunday. My right glute/hip is feeling kind of funky not sure what is up with that.
Saturday- Rest day + Peloton stretch + Expo Packet Pick Up
Packet pick-up was a zoo but they are always fun. I also got to have lunch with Cari and Coco which was a really nice treat. It was a gorgeous, sunny afternoon.
Ready or not here I come!
Sunday- Cherry Blossom 10 Miler Race
Stay tuned for all the details this week.
Chasing the Cherry Blossoms is the official start to spring around here in the Washington, DC area. Glad I was able to catch up to them. Thanks for linking up!
