Thanks for joining me and Kim for the Weekly Run Down. This week was all about getting back on track. Or, at least trying! Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and life.
Back On Track Weekly Run Down
Sunday- 3+ mile walk
According to my Oura ring, I still had a slight fever from from Covid Vaccine. It was such a gorgeous day so I headed out for a weighted vest walk and felt so much better afterwards. Spent the afternoon doing some meal prep to help get back on track with nutrition as well.
Monday-Peloton hike + upper body strength + core + afternoon walk
I did have an early morning blood draw which threw me off schedule a bit. Thankfully, I got back on track for my Monday workout schedule. My Monday really sets the tone for my week. Later, I met up with a friend for a walk. Keeping up those step goals!
Tuesday- 4 ish miles run/walk + core
Despite seeing some signs of fall, our humidity does not want to go away. I will just keep running towards fall and hopefully it will catch up with me eventually.
Wednesday-Tread hike + upper body strength + core
I had a few appointments today so it was a shorter but solid workout. No time for photos today!
Thursday 3 ish mile run + walk + stretch
I had the opportunity to test out a new pair of Brooks shoes that are not out to the public yet. The new Glycerin Max were cushioned and fun to run in. Full review coming soon. I did also stop to grab this photo of a heart shaped leaf seen on my run.
Friday -Fly to Connecticut
yes, we are off again to a destination wedding in Kent, Connecticut. I am doing my best to get back on track which is not always easy with travel. Aside from a few airport walks and a quick peloton core class, that was it for today.
Saturday- morning walk + archery
We had breakfast with the wedding group, did some walking around the grounds. They had some activities all day to choose from. I may have won the archery contest! Will find out later. Got in some zip lining before cleaning up for the wedding.
well, I am not so sure I got back on track totally, but tomorrow is a new day!
Marcia says
It is hot like an oven here but not humid, so a little more bearable. The heat should be gone today though. I runfess I am ready for fall! Look at you winning the archery contest! Yay!
Deborah Brooks says
I am right there with you ready for all things fall
Wendy says
Curious to hear your thoughts on the Glycerin Max. I have only been able to run in them once–at that Brooks event Thursday night. It’s storming here in Wisco, so no running this morning.
You look so pretty in the wedding photo! It sounds like they kept everyone busy before the ceremony. Did you find out if you won the archery contest?
Deborah Brooks says
I have only run in them once and I will try again this week. Thanks and yes there was lots to do. I did win the contest 🙂
Darlene Cardillo says
We all have different tracks. But yes travel definitely gets in the way of working out. ESP running.
You’re still active. That’s what counts.
Deborah Brooks says
yes, traveling does knock me off my schedule with eating and exercise. We just have to do the best we can while still having fun
Cari says
Love the dress. Perfect for a fall wedding! Way to go on the archery
If you tweeted this, going to ping a friend in the reply who was just talking about the Max
Deborah Brooks says
I need to run in them again to get a good feel but first run was pretty good. Archery was great!
Melissa says
Archery is such a fun way to kick off a wedding. Nice job! And I love your dress. It can be hard to get back on track. But I love that tofu it looks so good.
Deborah Brooks says
Tofu is one of my staples for protein. It is easy to add it almost anything I make. And thanks-it was fun this weekend
Jessie says
“Kent” exists in England too, I wonder if the US one was named after the UK one. Sounds like a fun wedding!
The fall leaves on your run look like autumn, but sounds like the weather isn’t cooperating yet- hopefully some fall temps soon!
Deborah Brooks says
Looks like fall but it is still warm and kind of humid. Hope this week is a little better
Kimberly Hatting says
You really keep busy! The Connecticut getaway sure sounds fun, and you and the hubby look quite dashing and debonair 😉
Deborah Brooks says
thanks and yes, we do keep very busy!
Jenny says
I think you had a pretty great week. Yes, it’s hard with all the traveling you’ve been doing, but you’re managing to get your workouts in. Plus you won an archery contest! Well, at least we hope you did. This sounds like quite a wedding- I hope you’re enjoying it!
Deborah Brooks says
yes, I did win so that was fun! Trying to just do my best and still have fun!
San says
Hard to get back on track with all the traveling that you’re doing… but you’re doing your best and try to be as active as possible and that’s all that counts 😉 Hope it was a great wedding celebration!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks and yes it is hard to stay totally on track with travel. We can only do our best
Liz Dexter says
I can tell you from there that fever from the Covid vaccination is preferable to fever from Covid! I’m glad you were able to get vaccinated – well, I thought it was only over 75s and people at very high risk but husband has been called for his, weirdly (just type 2 diabetes and he didn’t get one last year). Of course he has to wait 30 days from having actual Covid to book it in …
Deborah Brooks says
Wow I wonder why it is so much harder to get there. Many people are not even getting them anymore around here.
Liz Dexter says
I’m not sure, I assume cost as the NHS is on its knees and so is the country. There is a private one you can get which is £100 – that’s on top of the £25 for flu which seems acceptable – we pay for my flu jab from our joint account every year. If Matthew is getting a free one we’ve decided we’ll pay for me to get a paid one. We’re just so not used to having to do that here (and our medical insurance we have through his job doesn’t cover it!) it feels weird.
Deborah Brooks says
Interesting! Our insurance here pays for both vaccines but we do pay lots for our insurance so I guess it evens out
Debbie says
It’s so hard to get on track with travel thrown into the schedule. I’m pretty good once at the destination, but those travel days are tough. I love the dress you wore to the wedding. So pretty!
Congrats on those impressive archery skills! I don’t think I’ve ever tried archery (maybe at 4-H camp?). I definitely want to try zip-lining!
Deborah Brooks says
It is hard to stay totally on track when traveling. We can only do our best while still having fun. Archery is so much fun and so are zip lines!
Jenn says
I love all the travel you’re doing! How fun! I know it’s hard to stay on track or get back on track when you’re out of your routine, but you’re doing so many great things!
Deborah Brooks says
yes, I am trying to keep that in perspective!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Nice shot! I do love archery! The Glycerin Max look really nice. I filled out another survey for Brooks Testers but still waiting for a pair to show up on my doorstep!
Deborah Brooks says
It is fun to try out new shoes!! Some I like more than others
