Arctic Ease Review & Giveaway

When I was offered the chance to test out a sample of Arctic Ease, I jumped at the chance to see what it was all about.

So what is it? What do they do?

“Arctic Ease® wraps are a two-in-one solution, that provide cryotherapy and compression. Cryotherapy and compression help by reducing pain and swelling, whether from arthritis, muscle pains, strains, sprains, repetitive motion injuries, or bruises.” (Arcticeasewrap.com)

Check to a few of the above! I’ve had some shin and lower leg muscle discomfort the past few months and frequently use ice to treat it. Ice is great but not always convenient. Ice can be messy and ice can be “too cold” after about 20 minutes. I also frequently wear compression socks. These wraps are designed to be a two in one. I was curious to give them a try.

They are ready to use right out of the jar. No need to refrigerate or prep. Simply unroll and wrap onto the aching area. They easily wrap around elbows, ankles and knees. They feel cool (not cold) and wet upon unrolling. It sticks onto itself with a little friction.

Wrap Steps

Do they work?

There is nice soothing feeling of coolness and compression. It stayed cool for about an hour and I like the compression. Once I put on a pair of compression socks over top and this was great for muscle relief. It is completely odorless and I didn’t mind it being on at all while I continued to do things around the house. I have reused it several times (4-8 is recommended) and after that it loses it’s effectiveness. I did feel a lessening in the muscle aches in my lower legs and believe this is a nice option for times when ice is not available or practical.

Pro’s of Arctic Ease:

-Cooling Cryotherapy & compression all in one

-No refrigeration required (however you can for extra cold)

-Odorless, non-toxic, no adhesive, latex free

-Re-usable (4-8 times)

-Made in the USA

-Can be used during exercise

-Portable

-Reasonably priced $10-15 available at most drug stores & online

Cons’s of Arctic Ease:

-Not as cold as ice

-If you put too much water in it can become slimey (1-2 tsp is rec.)

Overall:

I think Arctic Ease is a great product to have in a gym bag, sports bag, on a hike, bike ride or any endurance event where muscle fatigue and strain may occur. Ice is not always available and these can be used on demand as needed. I enjoyed the combo of compression and coolness and did feel relief on my shin.

Arctic Ease has generously offered to provide my Moms Run This Town Ragnar team a few samples to take along with us during the race. I know we will certainly be taking advantage of them and will be glad to have them in our stash.

Disclaimer: I was given samples of Arctic Ease in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own. I’m sharing the love..

I haven’t used ice in forever–that’s a GOOD thing–but having awesome ice packs around is always a good idea!

I have not used Artic Ease but I could definitely use one right now! My ankle is bothering me for some reason and that looks heavenly!

      08/29/2014 at 9:32 am

oh no hate when that happens. Thanks for entering

  16. Kristen M says

I have not tried arctic ease. Being that I frequently ice my foot with a clunky ice pack, this would be a good investment.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/29/2014 at 9:50 pm

Thanks for entering! It is great to have around

  17. Joy says

    08/31/2014 at 1:56 pm

I have not tried it but would love the opportunity to do so. Ice packs don’t conform to the shape of my ankle so something that was built for that would be great.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/31/2014 at 2:01 pm

You’re right sometimes they don’t! Thanks for entering & good luck
