April Showers…Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week I am freaking out about I am preparing to run the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler today. It will be my 12th time running it over the last 15 years and will be a little different for me in terms of goals this time around. More on that later. Here’s a peek into my week of April showers.

April showers Weekly Run Down

Sunday- 5.5 mile run + stretch

I slept in and therefore, had a solo run again. Not as much fun but I got it done on a gorgeous morning with temps in the 50’s.

Weekly run down

Monday-Peloton walk + upper body strength + cycle + wall Pilates

Another rainy day around here. I am try to give my legs a little break this week leading up to cherry blossom. Upper body strength for the win and another session of wall Pilates.

Tuesday- 4.75 mile run + barre + stretch

April showers again! Luckily we found a lull to get our run in. Dreary and windy but we got it done. I sure was glad that I had my Brooks GTX waterproof shoes for all those puddles!

April showers

Wednesday-Peloton walk + core + upper body strength + short cycle class

April showers were insane today! I’m still giving my legs a break from strength training before this weekend. I need all the help I can get. LOL. Later, I went down to the Washington FBI Field office to get fingerprinted. Wondering why? Check out my Coffee Date post from Friday where I spill all the details.

weekly run down

Thursday-3 ish mile run + stretch + mobility

I intentionally kept my run short today as part of my taper for Sunday. Temps were good and we beat the rain which returned again in the afternoon. I shared one of my new favorite pre run activation moves on IG. This was a move I learned in a Peloton class and I love it. It’s a really effective way to warm up the glutes and abductors. Check it out. I’d love to hear what you think.

Friday-Peloton tread walks + cycle + stretch

I kept it low impact today with a combo of walking and lower intensity Peloton cycling classes. Later, my sister and I took my mom for high tea at The Waldorf Astoria in Washington DC for their Cherry Blossom themed experience. It was really beautifully done with fabulous decor and harp performances. Highly recommend. You see more on my IG.

Saturday-Peloton stretch and mobility classes

Saturday is usually a rest day for me and I kept that up with a few Peloton stretch classes. Later, cleaning up my patio for spring. Ready or not here I come for Cherry Blossom 10 Miler!

April showers were aplenty this week! Hopefully, we are out of our rainy phase for a while.

Not much for rain (at least not excessive rain), but we had ALL the WIND. Great job tapering, but staying active, in prepping for this favorite race. I hope it went well 😉
