A few months ago I saw a news story about a program at The FBI called The Citizens Academy. The purpose of this program is to bring in leaders in their community to give them an inside look at The FBI in their region. Students will learn a great understanding of the role of the Federal Agents in their local community.
I applied on a whim and was selected! I could not be more excited to join this program which will start in May at the Washington Field Office of The FBI. While I won’t chasing after terrorists or stopping drug deals, I am looking forward to learning so much.
In my application, I mentioned how I started by moms running group 10 years ago and how concerned we are about safety and security. Many of us also have or have had kids in the public schools here. For me, feeling safe while out on a run, in the public school system and also in my place of worship, were all motivations for me applying. I will of course give you all the details once I begin. In case you are interested, they are offered in many of the Field offices around the country.

It was so interesting to do a Coffee Omakase at a new South Korean coffee shop last week. It’s basically like a wine tasting or beer flight but with different coffee creations. My friend and I had so much fun tasting these really creative coffee drinks. You can see them all here in this reel. Needless to say, we were very well caffeinated after this experience!
