Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week, I am starting to feel like I am getting my running groove back. Let’s take a look!
Weekly Run Down
Sunday- 3 mile weighted vest walk + stretch +core
The weather kept saying we would have storms but they never materialized until evening. Anyway, I headed out for a humid steamy walk before hosting a small dinner party.
Monday- Peloton hike + upper body pull day + core + afternoon walk
Started off my week with my usual Peloton hike on the tread followed by upper body strength. I’ve made it to week 4 of this strength program. Later, headed out for that 3 mile walking loop with my friend before the storm rolled in and got completely drenched out there lol.
Tuesday -4 mile run/walk + core + stretch
Dare I say, I felt more in my running groove today than I have been all summer. Yes, those temps in the high 60’s were just what I needed. It felt great to run a little longer and struggle less.
Wednesday-3 mile weighted vest walk + barre + core + afternoon walk
I woke up to fabulous fall like temps so I pivoted to an outdoor morning weighted vest walk. Returned to finish off week 3 of the Barre program. Whew 45 min of barre is long! Later, I met a friend for another 3 mile walk. I had to make the most of my weather gift today! #CapreDiem before summer returns next week.
Thursday- 3.5 mile run/walk + stretch
We were again blessed with some cooler morning temps and I am all about it. I felt much better out there today. We are going to bounce back to summer temps next week but I now help is near if I can just hang on until I get my groove back.
Later, I took a last minute train up to Philadelphia to meet my husband. It’s just a 1 1/2 hour train from DC so super easy!
Friday-walking all around Philly 5+ miles +stretch class
I met a friend for a coffee walk and then walked all around Philly on a gorgeous day. Later, we went to see Bruce Springsteen concert. Lots of fun! He played for over 3 hours to a very high energy crowd. Up way to late!
Saturday- 4mile run/walk in Philly
I had to do the obligatory run to the Rocky steps at the Art Museum and get a photo with Rocky himself. Yes, I did run up the steps!
We drove back to DC and had a wine dinner event to attend. It ended up being a littler busier of a week than planned. But, in a good way!
Yay for feeling your running groove come back! it sounds like some cooler temps were just what you needed. what a fun trip to Philly! the concert sounds great and I love the Rocky steps photo. hope it doesn’t get too hot for you this week!
Last week was a nice gift but this week we are back to summer heat
Bruce!!! Awesome.
I think your mojo is in its way back.
I hope mine is too. Running is easier without that awful humidity.
I am looking forward to it!
This weather sure has been groovy! It’s a nice reminder of great things to come this fall!
Looks like you had a great time in Philly too!
I am sure trying to hold onto that!
Oh, how fun! i love the photos from Philly. Your week sounds great- the cooler temps must have been amazing. But I have to say a 45 minute barre class sounds GRUELING. Probably a good way to build mental strength.
the cooler temps were a fab gift! This week we are back to summer boo. Philly was super fun
I love those good busy weeks! Running up those steps is so much fun! I would love to do it again!
it was fun and had been a while
What a fun quick trip to Philly! I ran the museum steps when I was there (in 2018?) for the R’nR Half…It was a must-do 😉 I’m glad your mojo is rebounding. We’re having an odd return to hot summer temps (triple-digit heat index) currently. It feels real hot after the cool week we just had. Have a great week!
Philly is always fun! Unfortunately we have a return to summer this week too.I will take the cooler mornings anytime though
So excited for cooler temps for you! No wonder the runs feel so much better. And I am impressed you’re doing the 45 minute Barre! That does sound long!
Last week was an amazing reminder that fall is coming soon. Sadly, we are back to summer this week but I will make it lol. Those barre classes ae so long! I have one left to finish the program
Well done! Glad your running groove is back. Have a wonderful week!
Hoping as fall arrives things will turn around
Sounds like a fun trip – and yay on Bruce!! I can’t even imagine being a performer. Such long concerts under those hot lights. And they say marathons are hard?
He had so much energy! Fun concert
