Yes, there are so many options for compression therapy these days. How do you decide which compression product is right for you? It’s important to know the differences between options to make that choice. I’m sharing my thoughts, the features and benefits the Air Relax Compression Shorts 3.0. This product was gifted to me in exchange for a fair review.
Air Relax Compressions Shorts
Air Relax 3.0 compression shorts are just that-a shorts style compression system. They are designed to use lying down to increase blood circulation and recovery. In essence, compression shorts inflate and deflate continuously to massage the target areas. Compression devices like these have been shown to aid in recovery and decrease muscle soreness.
What areas do they target?
The Air Relax compression shorts target glutes, hamstrings, quads, hips and lower back with 360 degree compression. They are designed to reduce muscle soreness and lactic acid buildup.
Ease of use
Air relax shorts are intuitive to step into almost like a pair overalls. They are easy to adjust the straps and fit. This system is designed to be used lying down. Simply, once you have the boots on, simply plug into the control unit (not included). These shorts are available in 2 sizes based on waist size.
How do they feel?
This was the first compression system that I’ve tried that targeted my glutes, hips, quads and lower back. Most compression boot systems target lower legs and thighs. So, it is important to know what area of your body you would like to target.
This Air Relax shorts system is very easy to adjust the amount of pressure right from the power system. I appreciated the amount of pressure in the targeted areas.
comparison to other compression systems
Again, if you are looking to target sore muscles in your hips, glutes, quads and hamstrings, Air Relax Shorts hit the mark. They do not address the lower legs or feet. However, they do make a compatible product that is more of a traditional recovery boot style.
When to use them and for how long?
In my opinion, for best results, use compression therapy post workout or run or anytime your muscles feel sore. A 20 minute session is a great place to start and usually provides a great deal of relief.
Downsides
Compression systems can be pricey. They are an investment and there are many price points for different types of boots and shorts.
Final thoughts
I am thoroughly enjoying recovery sessions with my Air Relax Shorts. Most of my muscle soreness is in the glutes and hip area and these shorts hit just those spots for me. A 20 minute session offers a lot of recovery after a hard workout or run.

These looks great! My hips and low back are my trouble spots too, so i think I would prefer shorts over boots if I were to try something like this.

Oh, these look fun. I think I would prefer something more targeted to the hips and glutes. Of course, I’m sure there’s a place for both kinds of systems. You look super comfy on the couch!
Deborah Brooks says
Definitely it’s nice to have both!
