Running

A very thankful weekly run down

Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down. This year more than many before, I am ever so thankful for so many reasons, I know how blessed we are to live in this country and have the freedoms we have. I’m so very thankful for my family and my friends (near and far) who have really been there for me this year.

A thankful weekly run down

Sunday- Rest Day

I was pretty wiped out after our birthday party last night and also woke up with a little cold or allergy. I rarely get sick and this was bad timing for sure with Thanksgiving coming up.

Monday-Barre + core + glutes and legs strength

I was feeling much better today and happy to get back to my regular scheduled workouts. We finished cleaning up from the birthday party and started planning for Thanksgiving. It’s going to be a busy week!

Tuesday- Peloton cycle class + barre + core

I had planned to run today but the torrential rain put a damper on that. Instead, I took some longer Peloton cycle classes and barre. It was time to set up the tables for Thanksgiving dinner and get all the platters and serving ware out. Does that count as a workout?

Wednesday-4 ish miles run/walk + power cooking!

It was a gorgeous morning for a run and glad I pivoted to today. We had our own  MRTT turkey Trot and then spent the rest of the afternoon cooking and prepping for the big day.

Thursday-Happy Thanksgiving! 45 min cycle + stretch

I hopped onto Peloton’s Annual Turkey Burn cycle class which had a bunch of technical difficulties. None the less, I am thankful for my bike that goes nowhere but everywhere.

Then, it was back at cooking and setting up for dinner tonight.I just love having everyone back at home again! It’s chaotic but in a good way. We had lots of fun and laughs.

Weekly run down

Friday-barre + core Peloton

It was a day of mostly cleaning up and putting things back from whence they came. I got in a good glutes barre class and core. I am pretty wiped today!

Saturday- 3 mile walk + yoga for feet

My daughter and her boyfriend left to go back to Chicago this morning. It’s always so hard to say goodbye after a visit. My feet have been sore from wearing lots of heels and boots this week-foot yoga felt good. We woke up to our first winter feeling morning and it was time to break out the gloves.

Thankful weekly run down

Our house and our hearts were full this week and this mama could not have been happier. A very thankful and grateful week indeed. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

It looks like you had a great week of family! Our Thanksgiving was very nice but I forgot to take a photo! I guess that means it was a good time. It’s nice to get together, isn’t it?

It sounds like you had a great week! I am so glad you are feeling good and got to spend time with your family.

Getting platters and serving dishes out sure can feel like a workout!

It has been nonstop all week but in a good way

I’m really impressed you get the table together on Tuesday! I always wanted to do that when we hosted, but our space is pretty small so it would be hard to maneuver around.

Sounds like you had just the right amount of fitness sprinkled with family fun!

      Yes, I think so!

Looks like you had a nice thanksgiving with family.

I wore boots twice this week. Ouch.

Yes we did and yes, my feet don’t like wearing regular shoes 🙂

    Have a great week!

So happy you had such a great week! We were missing the daughters this year (the older one flew to NC to hang with the little sis), but the son was here and my parents and sister. Still a great day with lots of action, food, and fun 😉 I’m ready for a day of (almost) nothing…I got the second tree up last night (the 9-footer!), so I’m ready for some relaxation.

I am ready for some relaxing too this afternoon -well as relaxing as it can be with the eagles game on

Having the kids home is the best, right? Looks like your Thanksgiving was very festive! I haven’t been wearing heels but my feet still need some foot yoga, I think.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/26/2023 at 7:29 pm

highly recommend the feet yoga! Yes, we had a great time with everyone

That sounds like a very busy week, I’m glad your allergy/cold/whatever got better!
Wrll done getting your fitness work in between all the cooking and whatnot. Foot yoga is usually toe mobility, isn’t it? I’m sure your feet loved it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/26/2023 at 7:29 pm

Toe mobility, ankles and some calf it was very nice

I am so glad you had a full home and heart this week. I love a busy and full holiday, too, even if this isn’t my favorite one.

I love those turkey gloves! So cute!

"I am thankful for my bike that goes nowhere but everywhere. "
So true. I feel the same about the treadmill since I was exclusively treadmill runner at first, and it led me so many places.
Grateful for you. So grateful you were able to host

What a fun week with family and friends <3 I love your turkey gloves (haha). I did not run a turkey trot this year – I opted to do the Turkey Burn Ride (but had trouble getting into the class, like everybody else LOL) it was still a good day.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/27/2023 at 1:07 pm

This was the first year I did not do an official turkey trot but I am ok with that. Yes, I also had trouble getting into the class

It sounds like a busy but nice week.
My wife, a retired elementary school teacher, uses to say (and I agree) that working at home cleaning house, planning parties, cooking etc, is more than a workout, but she loves to have all of us together (she and I, our 2 children and our 4 grandchildren).
