thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. After weeks of a freezing, rough winter, we were gifted a little taste of spring this week.

A Taste Of Spring Weekly Run Down

Sunday- 4.5 mile walk + core

It was the start of a warmer week and a taste of spring. I had a nice long power walk with a friend in the sunshine.

Monday-core + full body strength + afternoon walk

I started the 2nd week of my new training program. There’s a bit of a learning curve to perform the moves the way they are intended. So far so good. I am also incorporating some of the key nutrition principles recommended starting with trying to get all of my calories in at meals and cut afternoon snacking.

Tuesday-core + 4 mile run/walk

We are enjoying a little taste of fake spring this week. It’s sure a gift to run in just one layer!

weekly run down

Wednesday-core + tread walk + full body strength + 2 afternoon walks

I took advantage of a rare February 64 degree day to squeeze in 2 two mile walks with friends in the afternoon in addition to my regular strength and tread walk. If only we could have those temps all year around!

weekly round own

Thursday- core + barre

We will call this a modified rest day. I had an early morning gut health test that took 3 hours. (I did pass with flying colors) and an afternoon dishwasher delivery appointment. I squeezed in a few Peloton classes in between.

Friday-power walk + lower body and core strength

Winter is trying to push back in with a vengeance but I was determined to get out for a nice hilly walk. I followed that up with a lower body and core workout. Today also wrapped up the 28 core challenge with Matty from Peloton. It does feel good to do a 10 min core daily.

weekly run down

Saturday- lower body strength + core + power walk

I threw in another lower body strength to make up for the day I missed. It was our last sunny and warmer day so did not want to miss a nice outdoor walk,

This little taste of spring was nice while it lasted!

Nice job on the variety of your workouts! I was sad to miss getting outside during the early part of the week, but happy I got in a couple of days before the cold returns.

We had that warmup, too, but it was really windy! Still, it’s great to be out of the deep freeze. The cold is back, but it’s not nearly as bad as it had been.

The hubs installed our dishwasher yesterday in record time and with only one swear! It’s nice to have that convenience again!

Yay I am enjoying our new dishwasher as well-the little things 🙂

Waking up to the 20s today gave me weather whiplash!
Nice you were able to enjoy the weather this week.

Interesting the program disfavors snacks. So many take the opposite stance.

Yes, it’s chilly out there! Yes, for so long I did the snacks so I am working on it. Some days are better than other

I think we all appreciated last week’s warm-up! It’s still windy, and the temps are more “seasonal” this weekend, but the forecast is looking nice for the next week. Bring on the spring!

We are definitely back to more regular temps -it quite jarring this morning

Good to hear you’ve had some warmer weather! I bet your hilly walk was great despite a bit cooler weather, I miss some hill walking myself! My legs were too tired after the week in the gym to do any steeper hills this weekend. I hope spring comes to you soon. Good work with the new training program!

Good job on your core challenge! I keep telling myself I can find 10 mins in my day to do a core workout, but yet I don’t do it. Maybe this will be the week I actually do it! 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      03/03/2025 at 12:26 pm

You can definitely find 10 min and it feels good tto

Great job on fitting it all in! It can really be hard to make things happen, especially when we are busy or the weather isn’t ideal. Love that you got it a little warmer. Ours has been a little cooler.
