Thanks for joining me and Kim for the Weekly Run Down. The end of the year came fast, didn’t it? It was a race to the finish for me to end the year strong. Let’s see how it went!

weekly run down

Race to the finish

Monday- barre + core + upper body +strength + stretch

We got home late last night. It was so nice to be back in my own bed again. I was up bright and early and started on the laundry and that Peloton stack I had set up. I am racing to finish my 15K goal by Sunday. Why? I have no idea but when I saw it was within reach, I decided to go for it. 300 minutes to go!

Tuesday- 4 mile tempo run + stretch + mobility

Nothing like a frigid tempo run to jolt me right back to reality and out of vacation mood. It actually felt good to get back on my schedule and get back out with my squad.

Wednesday-mobility + core + strength + cycle + stretch

A big Peloton gym day as I am seeing the 15K finish line! 180 minutes to go.

Thursday- 7 mile run + stretch and mobility

It was a gorgeous day for a run into Georgetown. We hit the trail by our house and ran through Arlington, VA, and across The Key Bridge into the city. A bright sunny and mild day it was just perfect! I love to stop at this sign for a photo and then we found these swings to play on.

Race to the finish

Friday- barre + upper body strength + core + mobility stretch

A little mix of all things Peloton today. 40. Minutes till goal!

Saturday- Peloton cycling class + stretch/mobility class

It was a race to the finish but I did it! 15K ✅

 Race to the finish

Sunday- on the plan 4-5 mile run

I hope to sleep in a bit and then get in a short run to ring in the year.

Happy New Year friends: Wishing you a healthy and happy year ahead with many smiles and miles.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Congrats on 15k! I loved how hard you pushed this week to get it. Do you get any recognition from Peloton for this big accomplishment?

Happy New Year! Looking forward to some adventures with you this year!

I was happy to finish out my goal. Well, you get a badge on your profile. Last year they sent out some special t shirts to some people for big milestones so maybe they will do that again.

It is fun to run in different places. I’d to run in DC area.

    Congrats on meeting your goal.

Congrats on hitting 15K! Is that cycling only or other workouts, too? I hope 2023 is very good to you!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/01/2023 at 9:35 am

No I actually did way less cycling this year. My 15K is mostly strength and stretching this year. I don’t do the runs w Peloton

Happy New Year! I’m glad you reached your 15K goal, but I knew you would. I bet running in Aruba was quite different from running here.

Here’s to crushing new goals in 2023!

It is so different running there and I cannot complain about being on a tropical island however, running in heat is not my thing. I was happy to hit my goal 🙂

Well, that was exciting! I like how you reached your goal on December 31st. Your Thursday run sounds amazing. Beautiful scenery and beautiful weather combined- it makes all the not-so-great runs worth it, to be able to go out and run seven miles on a day like that. Happy New Year!

Great job on that strong finish!!! I have no idea on my yearly Pelo minutes, but my summer “minutes” suffer due to all my outdoor biking (without any classes being utilized). Always great to see how you dive right back into your routine after a vacation:-) Happy ‘23!
