A light Week For Me Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the Weekly Run Down. This week I was kind of feeling off ever since returning from Chicago. I either ate something bad there or had a stomach bug. Either way, I was kind of off my game a bit.

A light week for me Weekly Run Down

Sunday- wrap up Chicago Weekend with Brooks Hype Fest

I admittedly slept through the recovery yoga class-oops. However, I was able to have a coffee date with Erica, Wendy and Cynthia. Then, I spent the afternoon with my daughter and took a few of her friends out to brunch before heading to the airport. I finally arrived back at home at 9:30 pm exhausted but with a full heart.

Wendy, Erica and Cynthia

Monday-walk + barre + core + stretch

I was pretty wiped from the weekend and kind of took it easy today.

Tuesday-3 mile weighted vest walk + core + upper body strength

I was still feeling a little run down and opted for a walk instead of a run combined with the strength. Later, I was hosting a Mahjong class and birthday party for a friend at our house.

Weekly run down

Wednesday -weighted vest 3 mile walk + lower body strength & core + Pilates and afternoon walk

I was finally feeling back to normal and well rested. It felt good to get in a solid workout.

Weekly run down

Thursday- 3.5 ish mile run/walk + Pilates + stretch

Someone turned the humidity back on but it still felt great to get out with the crew again on a nice morning.

Weekly run down

Friday- planned rest day + Pilates

My husband and I planned a fun day of visiting the DMV to get our real ID and then getting our flu and covid shots.

Saturday- stretch class

I had a slight reaction to the Covid shot this time with a low grade fever for a few  hours and just very tired. I kind of lounged around and read outside before rallying for an afternoon event and dinner out with friends. Hoping to get back on track next week.

Hope you’re feeling completely back to normal from your shot by now.

I was a wreck when I got my Real ID because I’d heard horror stories of people showing up without the proper documentation and having to go home, get it, and return. Luckily, I had everything I needed and zipped right through. Is the DMV still making reservations like they did during Covid? That really helped expedite things.

yes they do take appointments which was great. I had a small snag but fingers crossed my ID arrives soon. They don’t make it that easy especially if you have a valid license and passport!

I was so wiped out last week too! Hype Fest was a lot but it was fun! I rescheduled my Covid shot for this week. I always react, lol.

    Have a great week!

I was already feeling tired so I guess it was best to just knock it out. I had a mild fever but that’s it

You gave a right to a light week. Still lots of activities. My hubby and I got our Covid and flu shots too. We felt fine.

I guess it’s better to just do it all it once so you only feel yucky one day!

kudos for getting in so much fun activity even in a low activity week! travel tires me out too. your trip looked so much fun! hope you don’t feel run down for too long from the covid shot. I always seem to have some sort of reaction.

I’m glad you weren’t feeling ill for long. LOL on the humidity being turned back on — that says it perfectly!

I got my fall vaccines this week too!

I am very ready for our lovely fall weather!

I finally got my real ID, as well, a few months ago. I was amazed how quickly it went, with zero drama (I’d also heard horror stories). You definitely earned a low-key week (regardless of fatigue, etc.) after your busy week prior 😉 I hope you’re feeling better!

      09/15/2024 at 9:50 am

It was easier than I expected so hopefully it arrives this week. I am doing better today thanks

You have been very much the jetsetter the last month or so. It’s no wonder you needed a little downtime. Continue to feel better and you’ll be back out there!
I’m so glad you had such a good time!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/15/2024 at 12:38 pm

I did have a good time!

I think you needed a low-key week after all the excitement! Also I have to laugh at your “fun” day of going to the DMV and getting your vaccines… but I’m sure it felt good to get that all taken care of. I’m sure you’ll be back in full force next week.

Glad you took things easy to recover from the whirlwind Brooks event! Sorry you ate something bad, that’s the worst. Will go read your hype fest recap shortly!

Turned the humidity on indeed! Glad you’re feeling better. I am so not looking forward to the Real ID chaos. Will pick your brain on that tomorrow.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/16/2024 at 12:12 pm

It was not as bad as expected since they now take appointments but we will see if it shows up

Lucky you to get a covid vaccine. The only people who get it in the UK now are over-75s and the extremely immuno-compromised, not even Matthew with his type 2 diabetes. There is a private one around but it’s £100 and we’re still working out if we can justify that.

wow! We cannot even get enough people to take advantage here

Sounds like you partied it up on Friday! 😉 There is lots of talk of COVID shots this week. I wish I would have got mine for my upcoming travel. I didn’t even think about it!
