A freezing Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was absolutely freezing with the chilly temps and the wind howling. I think I’ve lost my toughness or motivation to get out there when it’s this cold. Alas, most of my workouts were inside this week.

A freezing Weekly Run Down

Sunday- barre + lower body strength + hike + core

I finished another round of Rebecca’s strength and hike program feeling strong and motivated. It’s another rainy yucky day around here.

Monday-full body strength + core + walk

I was offered a 6 week program from an LA based trainer that I started today. More on this later! It was super cold but I am always happy to get out for an afternoon walk with a friend.

Tuesday- 3.5 mile run/walk + core

It was super cold this morning with wind chills around 10 degrees but I was determined to get out there. I’m never sorry once I do.

Wednesday-Peloton tread walk + upper body strength and core +afternoon walk

It was another frigid day here which kept me inside for my workouts. Things went a lot smoother with my new workout program as I am getting used to the format. I hopped on the “conversation with my younger self” IG trend. Gosh, there is so much I would tell that girl!

Thursday-Peloton cycle + full body strength + core + tread walk + stretch

With wind chills in the single digits, I opted to stick inside for my workout. It was a nice mix of cardio and strength in the morning and then took to the tread for my afternoon walk.

In case you missed it-I shared my post on what I learned from wearing a Continuous Glucose Monitor.

Friday-core + tread walk

I had a busy day of errands on tap and got in a shorter workout.

Saturday-core + strength

I got in a my 4th strength workout for the week. It’s been fun to mix it up a bit and add in some new moves to me it also some I have not done in a while. Hello battle ropes and exercise ball.

Looks like we are going to get a taste of spring this week and I am here for it!

I’m so over this winter! We are supposed to warm up this week too and I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a tough winter for a lot of us.

I checked out your post on the CGM-I’m sure you learned a lot! Will you use this information going forward? Will you continue to wear the monitor?

I did learn a lot. I don’t plan to wear one all the time but will most likely do it once ever few months to check in.

    Cold? Welcome to my world.

It helps to have company when you are battling the weather. Hope it warms up in 3 weeks

That’s awesome about the trainer. Can’t wait to see how it goes.

I couldn’t bring myself to run outside this week — but I had to bundle up to take Scooby out.

Going to check out your CGM post. With my hypoglcemic tendencies I’m sure I could learn a lot!

It was a rough week of weather for us around here

Looks like we all got a blast of frigid weather this week! And, this next week is looking MUCH better! I love the convo with your younger self 😉 I’d tell mine much of the same…the running and weight-training would really boggle her mind, LOL!

Thank goodness for indoor options. I’m trying to remember what I did in the old days, when I lived up north, had no indoor equipment, and it was freezing cold. Ran anyway? Skipped it? Stayed inside and did a Jane Fonda video? (Probably that last one!). Anyway- i’ll be interested to hear how it goes with the new trainer. You’re always mixing things up!

It was cold here too!! Some schools were closed this week bc it was too frigid. We had 8-10 inches of snow between Sunday and Tuesday this week so between that and the cold the roads were a slippery mess so I also didn’t run outside.
have fun with the new trainer! love how you are so good about doing a variety of workouts.

How cool with that celebrity training program! I hope you’ll enjoy it.
So sorry about your weather – here it’s bad but not that bad. I hope that spring weather will come as forecasted!
Good for you to have all those indoor options in the meantime.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/23/2025 at 7:03 pm

it is definitely nice to h ave so many indoor options but I am looking forward to getting back outside this week

How nice that you are going to be trying some new workouts with the remote trainer! It’s always fun to shake things up like that. I love your conversation with your younger self. I could see myself saying a lot of the same things.
The glucose monitor is very intriguing. I did get tested for hypoglycemia a long, long time ago. I make sure I always have a snack with me or know when I will be eating again. I am a total crank when I don’t get food!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/25/2025 at 12:19 pm

it is beneficial to mix things up a bit and see how it goes!

What a great week for you! I love that younger self trend, but I’m trying to get a great coffee video to do it with. I’ll get there eventually.

    Enjoy your new training program!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/25/2025 at 12:20 pm

yes it is an interesting trend-my younger self had a lot to learn!

It will be fun to see what you think of your new workouts. It’s always good to mix things up.

I was stuck inside during all of that super cold weather. It seems like I picked a good few weeks to be out of commission.
