Summertime is made for reading. Flip Flops and Fiction! My hot summer reads list is here. Grab one of these juicy thrillers for your beach trip, afternoon by the pool or wherever your summer travels take you. These picks are perfect for your beach bag!
Flip Flops 🩴 and Fiction 📚 hot summer reads 😎
My favorite genre to read is a juicy thriller from court dramas, to whodunnits to spy capers. You will find me nose in Kindle with one of these all summer long.
The Perfect Divorce by Jenna Rose 💔
The Sequel to “the perfect marriage” picks up 11 years after high powered attorney Sarah Morgan defended her husband for murdering his mistress. In the Perfect Divorce, Sarah’s second marriage is no happily ever after that has her again in the middle of some murder mysteries. This twisty, never saw that coming thriller had me guessing until the end.
The Tenant by Freida McFadden 🏡
Blake Porter is at the top of his game as VP of a AD firm until he is abruptly fired. He and his fiancé are forced to take in a beautiful tenant to help pay the rent. Whitney may or may not be who she appears to be as things start to go very wrong. The queen of thrillers does it again! This one had me staying up way past my bedtime. Full of secrets that can’t stay buried and so many creative plot twists.
Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney ♥
I had no idea where this book was headed but I could not put it down. Just as he is about to hit it big with his book debut, Grady Green’s wife mysteriously disappears without a trace while he is on the phone with her. No one and nothing is what it seems as Grady tries to find out what really happened to his wife while still trying to write the best novel of his life. This was a good one!
The First Gentleman by James Patterson and Bill Clinton 🇺🇸
As a long time James Patterson fan, I was not sure of this one but it works-and works well. The first female president of the US expected some bumps in the road. Neither she or the First Gentleman were prepared when he is charged for murdering his old college girlfriend. The ex-NFL player has some explaining to do. This political thriller is perfect for the times and the beach!
An Inside Job by Daniel Silva 👀
Every summer I wait for Daniel Silva to release his newest spy thriller (due out July 15th) Master Spy and top art restorer, Gabriel Allon, finds himself in the middle of another art heist and murder investigation as he races around Venice to get to the bottom of another international caper.
A summer spent in flip flops reading fiction on a beach with an aperol spritz sounds pretty perfect to me! Hope these hot summer reads give you a few ideas wherever your summer takes you! Have any recommendations for me?
Ah, thrillers, flip flops, and an Aperol Spritz? Yes, please! The Perfect Divorce and The Tenant both sound great!
You mentioned reading on your Kindle – do you find it easy to focus that way? I have one too, and while it’s super convenient, I sometimes find myself drifting more than I do with a physical book. Would love to know if you’ve found any tricks for staying dialed in!
I switched to a Kindle last year and I’m very happy with it! Highly recommend both of those books-real page turners
Sounds like a great list! I’ve been trying to find more time for reading, but its usually just a few minutes before bed.
Any of these would be great picks!
Such a great list! I’m looking at the Alice Feeny book. It sounds good. I have never read Frieda McFadden. For some reason, she won’t allow her books to be released to libraries in the ebook format. Kinda bugs me.
I had no idea you could get ebooks from the library-I have not been in one since my kids were in school ha! Freida’s books are so good! The perfect divorce was also amazing
But that’s the best part of ebooks-you don’t have to go to the library! You just browse and download through their app! And it’s free…
I had no idea you could do this! I’ve just been purchasing on the kindle store! Thanks
I can show you how. It’s super easy although my patience and the queues don’t always align
I do like Frieda Mc Fadden. I’ll have to check out this one.
The First Gentleman sounds intriguing too!
Both are good picks!
Great list! Haven’t had the time to read quite as much as I would have liked this summer, but I’ll catch up!
Plenty of time!
Can’t wait to read Daniel Silva together!
Besides yours, also excited for the new Michael Connelly and the Baldacci one that I think you told me about last summer. Saw it in the window of B&N yesterday and remembered
yes we will have lots to discuss!
I’ve been wondering about the First Gentleman. It’s good to know you enjoyed it.
I am in the middle of it and liking it
I like mysteries, but not necessarily thrillers- sometimes they make me too anxious. I have heard good things about Beautiful Ugly though- it sounds good! My TBR is enormous, but maybe I’ll add that one.
beautiful ugly was great and enjoyed the different perspectives
