Why yes, I will be your plus one! Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down today. It is another busy week of fitness, fun, and travel. Yes, more travel! As you recall, this is my summer of yes, I will be there. So, this week I am the plus one for some fun travel.

weekly run down

I will be your plus one

Monday- Peloton cycle + core + barre + upper body strength

Back home and back at it to start off my Monday strong. I took the Peloton Lizzo cycle class that broke the internet last week. It was a really fun and super high energy class. She participated in the class and her backup dancers were in the back. Very cool for those in the studio!

Tuesday- 4.5 mile tempo run + core + stretch + barre

It was a really toasty morning but I was determined to get my run in. I kind of tricked my friend into joining me and she had no idea what she was in for. I had to walk during my recovery minutes but I am ok with that in this heat.

Then, we were off again on a train to NYC! My husband had to be here for work so yes, I will be your plus one. We went to a work event and then a late dinner.

Wednesday-Peloton core + barre+ upper & lower body strength

A nice hotel gym workout. My hotel also had a Peloton win! I pretty much spent the day eating all the NYC foods from bagels to pizza. Then, an afternoon meetup with Cari for a glass of wine.

wine with Cari

Thursday- Central Park run with Cari 5.5 miles + stretch

I had the best run tour guide of Central Park today~ Cari was a fab running partner and guide on a super hot and steamy morning. We could have chatted for hours! She took me on a loop around the reservoir and we of course stopped at all the fun photo spots. See my full IG reel for all the photos.

plus oneCentral Park

Friday-Flying to France

About that plus one-I also opted in for the last minute trip to the South of France and Italy for a week. We left from NYC late Thursday night to get into Nice, France Friday morning.

Saturday- Peloton core + upper body strength

A quick hotel workout before heading out to explore Cannes. It is super hot here as it is almost everywhere but still a fun city to explore. I am also enjoying putting my high school French to good use-ha.

I will be your plus one

I had trouble getting my photos to upload hopefully that will work next week but I do have them on IG if you are interested.

Sunday- on the plan some sort of run

I am not sure what kind of run will happen today but I will do my best.

It has been another crazy, whirlwind week around here!

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

What a fun summer of adventure you’re having! My husband used to travel a lot for work (Italy, England, France, Austin, Cali) and I always passed on the trips because the kids were young, saying I’d travel with him when they got older. Once they were out of the nest, his work travel ended. Boo!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      07/24/2022 at 11:19 am

yes, we had the same issue when our kids were younger. I am taking full advantage now though!

So cool you got to run with Cari! Lovely pics. I didn’t run Mon/Tue as it was so hot – at least the predictions were true and I didn’t plan to do nothing for nothing, if you see what i mean. Through it now and back to normal.

Looks like a blast Deb! We are looking at the south of france with a few friends next summer who already were planning to go. I think its going to be Bandol. Have you been there?

Nice work on the tempo run in the heat, and nothing wrong with walking recoveries. That’s what they’re there for!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      07/29/2022 at 5:13 am

I have not been there! The whole area is great but have to say I am more a fan of the Italian side of things.
