Summer seems to be quickly coming to end. While I am more than okay with losing the heat and humidity of the Washington, DC area, I will miss the extra daylight, especially in the afternoon. I realized there are still a few things on my summer bucket list that I have not checked off this year. Here goes!
5 Things Still On My Summer Bucket List
While I have done all of these things previously, I have not yet done them or had them this summer. I still have a little bit of time to get it done.
SUP
During the first summer of Covid, my friend and I rented SUP boards often out on the Potomac River in Washington, DC. I have no idea why we have not returned this summer (yet). I have already texted her and we are going to set up a date soon.
Kayak
Same! I also enjoy the rhythmic peacefulness of rowing on the water and not having to balance (as much). I need to get a date for this on the calendar soon too.

S’mores
I cannot let the summer go by without having at least one s’more!
Concert
I have stayed away from big events like indoor concerts mostly due to covid. I think it is time to go back. Looks like we have some tickets to Michael Bublé in a few weeks.
Baseball Game
It would not be summer without attending at least one baseball game. Last summer, I went to a game at both Wrigley Field (Chicago) and National Stadium (Washington, DC).
What is left on your summer bucket list?
My First 5K and More, Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and Zenaida
Yes. The summer has flown by.
Believe it or not we have not barbecued. Or gone to the race track. Or kayaked. Or seen a show.
I hope we both do the things on our list.
yes me too!
You could come and visit me to go kayaking!
I know! I miss you and I was thinking about our kayaking together. It has been a crazy busy summer!
I know there’s technically a lot of summer left, but it’s hard to think of it that way now that both kids are back in school and my summer trips are over. Florida is also odd in that it’s basically summer all year round. But I can see why you would have to get those things checked off your summer bucket list soon (well, except for the s’mores- s’mores can be enjoyed year round!)
you are right I could always get that s’more in anytime!
I have been craving an outdoor concert so bad! I was all set for two nights of music & fun at the state fair…until Monday morning’s Covid test, LOL. First world probs, anyone?
yes, it does happen!
Unfortunately no big plans this Summer. Your bucket list sounds like a lot of fun! Enjoy — especially the s’mores.
I hope to! Can’t ever go wrong with a s’more
Summer does feel like it’s slipping away. I can’t believe I still haven’t made it to the beach yet! I hope you get to check these final items off your list!
You too!
I haven’t been on the water at all this summer and I’m so sad. I have had s’mores and I’ve gone to a baseball game, so there’s that.
well, you do live very close to the water so you still have time!
“first summer of COVID”, not a sentence we ever thought we’d have to utter.
Mine is similar: s’mores, theatre, picnic. The latter is because the weather just never cooperated. The Yankees game I made it to was the first since pre COVID which was bananas
I know!I have the SUP scheduled for this week!
