5 Things I always pack for a race vacation

I like to be prepared and also not have to worry about finding what I need when traveling. Here are my top 5 must have items that are always in my race travel bag.

Theragun/foam roller

My Theragun MIni always makes it into the bag and if I have enough space, a small foam roller too. I use them both before and after my race.

I always take along my race day breakfast. While coffee of some sort is almost always available in hotel rooms, you can’t be certain you will be able to find your usual breakfast. I bring along my protein oatmeal cup and some peanut butter.

Disposable rain poncho

I always throw one of these disposable rain ponchos into my bag because the weather is often wrong.

Throw away top layer

When it’s not quite cold enough to wear a jacket, you want to stay warm at the start. An old long sleeve shirt does the trick.

These are 5 of my must have items to pack for any race vacation. What’s in your bag? Up next week: Race Vacation Mistakes To Avoid.

All the chargers

Even though I fully charge everything before I leave, you can’t be too careful. I always pack all the chargers.

Yes! I ALWAYS pack food- you never know what the food situation will be. A Theragun is on my Christmas list- I’ve been using the Hypervolt at work but I’m not at work every day- I need one to carry around with me!

My Theragun is my BFF, and not just for running warm-up or recovery. It goes almost everywhere I go, even on random car rides (if I’m the passenger, LOL).

I’m like you – I ALWAYS pack my race day breakfast! You just never know what you’re going to find at your destination and it’s not worth stressing about the most important meal on race day!
