5 Reasons To Join The If Girls Ran The World Campaign

Happy Friday! Program note: I am hosting Fit n Fashionable Friday over on Nicole’s blog today so please stop by and say hi!

Today I’d like to talk about a fun campaign I’ve just joined up with: If Girls Ran The World.

if girls ran the world

Throughout the month of October, thousands of women will join together to collectively run around the world virtually. That’s over 24 thousand miles! Their global efforts will fund numerous charities around the world that benefit girls and women. I will be logging my miles throughout October to benefit Girls on The Run, a cause near and dear to my heart.

Why should you join me?

The Challenge

Seems like people are all about fitness challenges these days! They are fun and a great way to keep up your fitness goals. You are already doing it so why not put it towards a great cause.

It’s social

It’s going to be fun to cheer each other on virtually as we rack up miles. Track and share your miles through Strava or MapMyFitness or just keep track on your own.

Walking or Running counts

It doesn’t matter if you walk or run or what your pace is. Moving forward is all that counts. You can log your miles once a week or everyday up to you.

Pick your cause

You can pick which charity your miles will benefit. I will be running for  Girls on The Run but there are literally hundreds to choose from.

Help girl empowerment globally

I especially like that the charities will all help girls and women around the world.

If you’d like more info on how to get involved please visit here

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.
