Weekly Wrap A Tri-ing Week

03/11/2018 by Deborah Brooks

college move in week times two

This week was another jam packed week with lots of running and cross training. With the Cherry Blossom 10 miler race just 4 weeks away, increasing my running mileage while staying injury free has been my focus. Even though triathlon season is quickly approaching, I have not thought about training for it until this weekend. I realized I kind of did a sort of tri this weekend by accident. Let me explain in this Weekly Wrap A Tri-ing Week. Weekly Wrap A Tri-ing Week Monday-15 min elliptical and  … [Read more...]

Weekly Wrap Recovery Week

07/23/2017 by Deborah Brooks

Weekly Wrap| Summer's Back

Can't believe it's already time for another Weekly Wrap with Tricia, HoHo & Darlene. I've really been enjoying participating in the link ups the past few months and find they are a great way to keep track of my own workouts and also see what my sweaty friends have been up to. Last Sunday was my 3rd Sprint Tri of the season so this week has been mainly a recovery week for me. Sunday Hagerstown Sprint Tri-I have not written my race recap yet as I am still mulling over all the … [Read more...]

Zengo Cycle- A sweaty good ride

10/14/2015 by Deborah Brooks

Zengo|cycle|class review|Wash DC|VA

As a former cycling instructor, I am always excited to scope out new boutique cycle experiences. I've been wanting to check out Zengo for a while and see how it compared to some of the other trendy spin studios in the Washington area. I visited the Mosaic location in Virginia. Zengo now has 4 locations in the DC Metro area-so how does it stack up to other workouts? Zengo is a 50 minute "full body, cycle-centric workout...delivering hard core cardio and strength training in less than an hour" … [Read more...]

Ton of Bricks Workout

07/08/2015 by Deborah Brooks

Brick|workout|run|bike|triathlon

Happy Wednesday!   Whether you are training for a triathlon or just looking to mix up your running or biking routine, this is a great workout to give a "tri". Challenging yourself to add in a short run after a short bike ride can really bump up the intensity & make it a lot more fun. Doing a 3-5 mile training run or a 15 mile bike ride may get a little boring after a while. I just realized that my next tri race is in 6 weeks! Instead of doing a traditional "brick" workout of a long bike … [Read more...]

Fit Friday – Addaday Pro massager review

You may have read my post the other day about some of my current bad running habits. One of them, is not stretching enough or doing enough injury prevention. When I was recently offered the chance to test out the Addaday Pro massager, I knew it was perfect timing to give my running habits […]

Running Bad Habits I Need To Break ASAP

Throughout my running “career”/ “history” I have practiced what I would refer to as “good habits” regarding running and recovery. Now is not one of those times. I have fallen into some, what I consider to be, running bad habits. I am baring my soul (and soles) here in an attempt to break these habits. […]
