I am not a New Year’s Resolution girl. The holiday season is so hectic and exhausting. To me, January just does not feel like the right time to make changes. However, after the carefree and relaxed days of summer, fall feels like the perfect time to Step into a September Reset. This post is sponsored by adidas. All opinions and ideas are my own.
Step Into A September Reset
Kids are back in school, schedules are a little more regular, and the temps are starting to drop. As September subtly slides in, it feels like a natural time to make a few tweaks with health and fitness. Here are a few tips to help you Step Into a September Reset.
Realistically Meal Plan
Summer’s lack of structure can leave even a master meal planner a little off schedule. Ease back into meal planning by starting with 2 nights a week. Head over to Pinterest and type in a healthy ingredient you love. Pick out a recipe, print it out and stock up on the ingredients. Starting with just 2 nights a week feels doable.
Plan your workouts
Just as you schedule work commitments, school events and kids’ activities, pencil in your workout goals for the week. Seeing them on your calendar gives you that extra incentive to get them done. It sure feels good to put a check mark next to that completed workout. Be realistic about your time commitments each week and set yourself up for success. Always wanted to check out that new yoga studio? Do it!
Dress the part
When I put on my workout clothes and shoes, I am much more in the mood to exercise. Pick out your gym or running gear the night before so you are not scrambling around for that sports bra. Charge your watch and pull out your jacket. While you’re at it, pick up some new fall fitness wear to get you in the mood. I am loving this new adidas Tailored Track Jacket that takes me from run, to errands to coffee dates with friends.
Speaking of friends, having a fit crew to keep you accountable and motivated is huge. Plan to meet up with a friend for a gym class or a run. Schedule a “healthy date” with your significant other for a bike ride, walk or hike. Fall is the perfect time to get outside and take advantage of the weather.
Late nights and lazy morning of summer can get us off track with sleep. Back to school time is a timely opportunity to rethink your own sleep hygiene habits.
By making a few tweaks you can seamlessly step into a September Reset of your own. What tips do you have for a fitness reset?
