It would be impossible to pick just one favorite city to run in! I’ve always believed the best way to see a city is on foot and why not put those feet into running shoes and log some miles? Sharing a few snapshots of my favorite running cities.
Oh the places you will go…Favorite running cities
Even though it was pouring down rain for most of my stay in Chicago, I loved running the Rock n Roll 5K and 10K there last summer. Of course, the race and the run were made even better because I got the chance to hang with my blogger friends.
Nothing beats having the chance to run up the famous Rocky Steps. I did a solo run there last fall and this weekend I am headed up to do the Philly Half. My first official race in Philly.
Only having one day to see Vancouver, I opted for a City Running Tour of the city. My guide was terrific and I saw way more by foot than I ever would have seen on my own touring around. What a fun and vibrant city. Hope I have the chance to go back some day.
When you are blessed with warm September temps and spectacular views, how can you not throw on your running shoes? One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
I was lucky enough to run over The Golden Gate Bridge twice in a year. Last year when our Ragnar race was cancelled, a City Running Tour took a friend and I on a spectacular running adventure through San Fran. This year, we went back for our Ragnar and again had the amazing opportunity to run over the bridge. The 2 experiences were like day and night ha ha.
Living outside of Washington, DC, I tend to take for granted all of the beautiful monuments and sites we have to run by. When we do venture into the city, I am always reminded how lucky I am to live here.
My most favorite runs of all are the everyday runs with my friends on the beautiful W & OD Trail. That’s where all the magic happens.
It’s so much fun to look back on the places and races that my running shoes have taken me. How about you? What are your favorite running cities?
