If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know how important I think strength training is for runners. I am religious about my twice a week routine. Lately I have been mixing it up a bit by using slightly heavier weights and incorporating more drop sets. (More on that below) This Drop It Like A Squat Workout combines all of my favorite leg moves into one killer routine. This post is sponsored by Fabletics. All opinions are my own.
Drop It Like A Squat Workout
You will need 3 sets of weights (light, medium and heavy). It’s fine to use dumbbells or kettlebells or a combination of both. After a 15 min warm up of light cardio, start your first set with your heavier weights. As you increase your reps for each set, you drop your weights. Your last set will be your lightest weights with more reps. After you’ve completed all the moves, cool down with another 15 minutes of light cardio and/or stretching. Got it? Great!
Of course you are going to want to make sure that your workout gear can hold up to your squats. Believe it or not, I had never tried any Fabletics gear until last week! I decided to put it to the ultimate test with all these squats and it did not disappoint.
These High-Waisted Printed Powerhold 7/8 Leggings hit me right at my belly button and stayed up during my whole workout. The high rise waistband is super flattering and has an internal waistband pocket. Yes! I love the floral print and it’s so easy to match up tops.
The Aubrey Tank fit true to size. I loved the sheer outer layer on top of a moisture-wicking stretchy base layer. This tank stayed in place throughout my aggressive workout and looks fashionable and fun. As for fit, I used the Fabletics sizing guide and found it very true to size. I am wearing a medium Aubrey tank and a small High-waisted Printed Powerhold 7/8 Legging.
Think you are ready to Drop It Like a Squat? You will be feeling this one the next day for sure. Rest assured, your “assets” will be covered with these Fabletics leggings.
