Isn’t it just amazing that something so simple as RUNNING can be so complicated? As much as I have tried to break some of my worst bad habits, I know that there are a few running mistakes that I continue to make over and over again.
Running Mistakes I make over and over again
Not doing a dynamic warmup
Back when I first started running, I had a series of warmups I would do before heading out. Well…who has time for all that? I can hardly make it out on time to meet the group as it is. I pretty much just get out of my car, pose for a group picture and head out on a run.
Not always stretching after my run
There was a time not too long ago that I was so diligent about stretching after each and every run. I have no idea how I’ve become so lackadaisical about my recovery. I feel like I am always “running” off to get somewhere and I’ve neglected this. Making this my new top priority because I know how important it is.
Sweaty & Stretching it out post run today. Feels like summer looks like fall. Not always listening to my body
There are times when I know I could definitely use an extra day off or maybe I feel a little twinge somewhere that tells me to back off. I have the hardest time taking a day off of running even if I know I probably should. Ironically, I am always telling other people that they need days off.
Not sticking to the plan
I know that I am supposed to have easy and hard running days but sometimes, okay a lot of times, I don’t stick to my plan. It’s also very easy for me to add in a couple extra miles here and there if I am running with the group just because. I know this never really does me any good in the end and yet I keep doing it.
Tell me~ Do you make any of these same running mistakes?
