Given the fact that my blog is called Confessions of a mother runner, I thought it was about time that I jumped onto this whole “runfessions” thing! I am joining Marcia and lots of other runners to “Runfess” some of this month’s goings on. Let’s get right to it shall we?
I “Runfess” that my Plantar Fasciitis has been bugging me quite a bit again for the past 6 weeks or so. I’ve been
ignoring babying it and running less mileage and it’s slowing getting better or that’s what I tell myself. It’s especially annoying because it’s one of those injuries that just comes and goes with no rhyme or reason.
I “Runfess” that since I wrote the post earlier this week about all my “bad habits” as a runner, I have made an effort to focus on stretching and warming up. Well, okay I did it twice-baby steps!
I “Runfess” I am enjoying being back in the pool after taking a few months off over the holidays. I find it very relaxing and peaceful. Downside? Completely starving after swimming. I had to eat an emergency bar I found in my gym bag and who knows how long that had been there.
I “Runfess” Speaking of starving, I was feeling like I needed some sort of detox after the holidays. I don’t do diets but I felt like I needed to jump start my year so I tried to go vegan for a week. That was ridiculously hard! I mean who can live without cheese and chocolate and lattes? Happy to be back to my regular vegetarian eating plan.
I “Runfess” I am so wimpy about riding my bike outside when it’s cold. It doesn’t bother me at all to run outside in the cold but I get way too cold biking. So…I will be in spin class until April!
