It might only be September but it’s never too early to start thinking about cold and flu prevention. As soon as the kids go back to school, it seems like germs and viruses are everywhere. While we can’t fully prevent colds and the flu, there are some things you can do to protect yourself. Here are some of my tried and true tips to Out Run The Flu.
Get More Sleep- Poor sleep habits have been said to have an adverse affect on your immune system leaving you more susceptible to illness.
Get the Flu shot- According to the CDC the “single best way to protect yourself against the flu is to get vaccinated every year”. (source) I have already gotten my vaccine this year-how about you?
Exercise- Numerous studies show that those who exercise regularly have less cold & flu symptoms. (source)
Replace your toothbrush often- Those babies can really harbor tons of germs. Replace them regularly and whenever you have been sick.
Disinfect- We all know it’s important to wash your hands often but do you disinfect your phone? We constantly have our phones out and often put them down on sinks in bathrooms or tables in restaurants. Disinfecting your phone often can help keep those germs from getting to your face.
Eat your vitamins & stay hydrated-Eating lots of fruits & veggies helps to get all those vitamins in naturally.
I have mentioned a few times recently that I have been feeling a little tired and run down the past month. I have been loving the natural pick me up I find from Zarbee’s Naturals vitamin drinks. I am hoping, along with all the tips above, that these will help me stay healthy this fall & out run the flu.
Zarbee’s Naturals are available exclusively at Target as part of their “Made to Matter” collection. All this month they are $4 off & you can find them in the cough syrup aisle.
